Dissenting Dems Are Threatening to Obstruct Obama

Dissenting Democrats will follow the leadership of the House Republicans... "who happen to be the political laughing stock of the country."

Evan Bayh, Blanche Lincoln and Tom Carper and a group of 15-20 "bleu dog" democrats are aligning as a loose coalition and threatening to obstruct the President's agenda. These Democratic "moderates" plan to focus on deficit reduction and fiscal responsibility -- familiar refrains from the Republican's failed policies.

CONSERVADEM Evan Bayh On the "Spending" Bill:

To paraphrase Rachel: Now you are finding your voice,
your dissent, your bravery!

____________

UPDATE

The Republicans always increase the debt faster than Democratic Presidents.

____________

Obama's plan cuts taxes for 95% of working Americans

The media has been obsessing about President Obama's plan to roll back the Bush tax cuts for the wealthiest Americans—from 35% to 39.6%—even asking if that makes him a socialist.

But do you know what tax rate the wealthiest Americans paid on the top portion of their earnings at the end of Ronald Reagan's first term? 50%.

Under Richard Nixon? 70%. Under Dwight Eisenhower? 91%!

Obama is proposing a top rate lower than Reagan's first term, lower than Nixon's, lower than Eisenhower's, and lower than FDR's when he pulled us out of the Great Depression. More.

Republicans don't represent "conservative values."

Here is why i am not a democrat? Democrats support abortion which decreases black population in this country, for every 100 live black births there are 53 abortions black women make up 35% of all abortions yet we as black people only make 14% on the population. Democrats do not believe that people have a right to KEEP AND BEAR ARMS, in 1935 the dominican republic massacred 37,000 UNARMED haitians in there country, if you look at the US americans in republican states can carry handguns for protection and crime is lower in these states as opposed to more democratic states such as conneticut, new york, new jersey, massacusetts, california, illinois and so on. AS a direct descendent of three black men who fought in the american revolutionary war, civil war and the spanish american war i don't agree with ron pauls statement.

The Republicans always increase the debt faster than Democratic Presidents. See the chart in my post.

President Obama has reduced taxes for 95% of the working class.

Unless you make over $250,000 a year - you will not have to pay more taxes.

Even for the folks who make over $250,000 a year, they will only see an increase of 4%.

What Democratic "spending" would you cut at this point? If you say war and the military industrial complex, I agree.

If you say unemployment and other social services, especially when the economy is in a tailspin, I disagree.

Ironically, the Governor of Texas, who threatened to SECEDE over "spending," is eating his words and asking for help from the gov't with the "Swine" Flu "pandemic" threat.

Like most Americans, I disagree with the bailouts of Wall Street bankers -- this was a mistake when Bush and other policy makers did it and it is unfortunate that Obama has given hand outs to the bankers. Their greed, irresponsibility and thievery has aggravated the recession. Not Fannie Mae and Freddy Mac! Their charters do not even allow them to make subprime loans and they made very few!

In my opinion, the recession cannot be over as long as the wars in Iraq & Afghanistan still rage. Also a problem are the US' "secret" wars and "secret" budgets for foreign "adventures."

US empire building and hegemony and wars of aggression are a democratic and republican legacy that has to stop. This is what will be the ultimate downfall of the American Empire.

I believe in a woman's right to choose whether to carry a baby or not. It is unfortunate that poverty, NOT ABORTION laws, cause more Black women to resort to abortion.

Your statement that Democrats do not believe in the right to keep arms is not true. The only ban that the Democrats have sought are on automatic and high powered assault weapons. Any US citizen with a clean criminal record and if the laws are enforced, a clean psychiatric record can get a permit to carry a gun in most states. I am not familiar with the gun laws of every state.

The matter of the massacre of Haitian migrants by Trujillo is not relevant in a discussion about US gun laws. Unless you believe that Haiti is a protectorate of the US or an American state?

I don't buy your statement on crimes reductions in states where people carry weapons and I would like to have you give a credible source for that statement.

You are proud of your Haitian ancestors record of fighting in American wars, that may be commendable, if they were fighting against slavery and on principle -- it may be that they had no choice.

For instance the Haitians who fought in the American Revolution at Savanna, Georgia may have all been slaves of the French. Of course, a few Black "free men" in Haiti did own slaves and may have fought on the side of the Americans of their on free will -- though that is doubtful in my opinion.

On gun crime i can give you one credible book on that is called" more guns less crime" by the author lott and the other book that i looked into is "armed america" by cramer it is about how gun ownership became as american as apple pie. Democrats in DC and chicago have taken it upon themselves to make handgun bans law in there cities emboldening criminals to prey upon people in those cities because criminals know that they are not armed and therefore easy targets. In this last century governments around the world have killed 56 million unarmed people including the massacre that took place in the dominican republic of haitian immigrants. The founding fathers of america did not trust government and they did not want you to trust government either, thats why they would not sign on to the constitution until the bill of rights was added to it. As far as texas goes they are the only state that flys there flag higher than the american flag that was the agreement for them to come back into the union and they can secede want they feel that the federal government gets out of hand.

My wife is jamaican and haitian i am black american, but back to democrats and republicans, the democratic party has always taken an approach that some life is expendible in the past it was the slave today it is the unborn fetus in most cases a black unborn fetus i am not saying the republicans are perfect they are far from it but if you look at the history of the democratic party, for instance james madison after the revolutionary war wanted to put in the bill of rights a passage denoucing slavery but it was omitted due to not wanting to agitate southern democrats who had slaves, the 3/5 clause was actually an anti slavery clause in the constitution, for example for every 30,000 free people your state gets one delegate in congress, but you needed 50,000 slaves to get that one delegate in congress as opposed to 30,000 free men to get that delegate in congress quote frederick douglas. Republicans wanted to get back to the original ideas of the republic that every man was created equal, buy putting that clause in the constitution lessened the power that slave states had in congress. Southerners said that slavery was vital to there economy regardless of the slaves life hence stem cell research is vital regardless of the embryo, just because it is legal and profitable does not make it right.Today the republican party is in my opinion the lesser of the two evils in fact i am thinking of voting libertarian this time.

Please point out where in America guns are banned... you can't because there isn't. As for the protection of citizens, that is the job of the police, not individual vigilantes.

Around the world, there is a proliferation of arms, that is what kills more people. The ready availability of arms. The US is the world's number one supplier of arms. The US traffics in death and debt.

I believe the government has a role in providing the essential services that taxpayers need. Those services should include universal healthcare, housing & sustenance and a quality education.

Who said I trust the US government? At this point, no one in the world trusts the American government.

The Texas governor is talking like a traitor - he should not grandstand to the point of being criminal. Most Texans polled (over 50%) do not believe their state should secede. Besides, this man, and the other Republican hypocrites (Jindhal, Palin...) who have talked of not accepting *parts* of the stimulus have backed down.

thezenhaitian said...

"...the democratic party has always taken an approach that some life is expendible in the past it was the slave today it is the unborn fetus in most cases a black unborn fetus"This discussion will be productive if you are going to make statements like this that cannot be supported.

1) The statement is too general and cannot be proven. There are many reasons that you could state to support your anti-abortion stance. Your statement is scurrilous and inflammatory. Needless to say, no one should, Democratic or Republican want to abort babies... but they can choose to support women in their choices.

2) The Republicans lost the support of Blacks because they supported Southern racists in the instituting of Jim Crow laws, the emergence of the Ku Klux Klan, the Republicans allowed these racists to rewrite laws in order to disenfranchise blacks. The Republicans took the Black vote for granted (the party of Lincoln...). In 1932 Hoover (the republican) got more votes than FDR (the democrat), even though FDR proposed the New Deal; which is credited with getting the US out of the great depression which the Republican Party through its policies had caused.

The final turning point for Republicans losing the Black vote, was when a Democratic President, Lyndon Johnson passed the Civil Rights Act. Johnson did the right thing in the eyes of Blacks to fulfill the 100-year old promises of America. That is when Black voters began to vote en masse for the Democratic party.

By the way, if you don't see anything wrong with being considered 3/5th of a human being, if you consider that getting back to the "original ideas of the republic that every man was created equal," then you are seriously deluded. It was a precedent that was used to marginalize an entire group of people under the law.

Stem cell research saves lives. That is the purpose of stem cell research. No one wants to kill viable embryos. The ones used would have been discarded.

The libertarians are even more extremist than the Republicans. Their political philosophy amounts to every man for himself and maybe they belong to another era, not the twentieth century. Good luck with that.

In the latest Rasmussen Poll in Texas: "75% Opt To Stay." Read the poll here.In 1861 Texas seceded from the Union and joined the Confederate States of America in order to uphold the rights of slaveholders.

In 1869 Texas formally became a part of the Union again and the Supreme Court ruled that the Constitution did not permit states to secede from the US and that acts of legislatures within seceding states intended to give effect to such ordinances, were null. So in ending Texas' secession, the precedent was set that there would be no possibility of secession by any state.

The police have no legal duty to protect the individual citizen, a recent case went all the way to the supreme court about a woman who was raped at a public park, they ruled in favor of the police. You misunderstood the 3/5 clause it was about representtatives in congress not the persons worth. If the south was going to count slaves as the same as free people then the north was going to count its property also in order to get more delegates in congress. As far as guns go, i bet those over 500,000 rwandans who were hacked to death wished they had the right to keep and bear arms,36 states have a shall issue concealed carry permit system which means that if you are felony free and you pay the fee then you can carry a handgun for protection if you are living in a state that does not have this then your second amendment freedoms are INFRINGED, i don't know about you but i want all of my freedoms in the bill of rights that my ancestors fought and marched for.You don't have to ban guns to make them unavailable to law abiding citizens you can legislate them out of existence with endless registration ,taxes and lawsuits. The idea of the government "police" having all of the guns has not worked out to well for the people in this last century, thats why the first and the second amendment are next to each other because those two are the first things that geneocidal dictators go after first. Why do organizations that protect civil liberties in this country always have to fight government? This current administration seems to think that government is not big enough, not saying that i am totally defending the last administration because the patriot act was an attack on the bill of rights. Government should not be taking away peoples freedom through legislating from the lowest common denominator. More government means more taxes and alot less freedom and anyone who would give up freedom and rights for safety deserves neither. I am sure that the people who founded this country would not want some monster government squeezing the life out of its citizens. Abortion in china is causing china to have 32 million more boys than girls in the near future, who gave them the right to play god, if a woman wants to rip out a living fetus and kill it, i am not going to support it, i am not going to ask someone to do something i am not willing to do myself. With texas since i don't live there i could care less if they leave the union, but i do understand them when they say that the federal government is encroaching on the bill of rights. With the great depression at the time the US was the number one manufacture in the world we manufactured our way out, we don't manufacture anything much in this country today well on that note have a nice evening.

"36 states have a shall issue concealed carry permit system which means that if you are felony free and you pay the fee then you can carry a handgun for protection if you are living in a state that does not have this then your second amendment freedoms are INFRINGED"

That still does not answer the question: In which state(s) are guns banned?

"don't know about you but i want all of my freedoms in the bill of rights that my ancestors fought and marched for"

Once again, please note that in the US there is no ban on guns. You should be concerned about individual rights that are being trampled on, setting a precedence that may affect you as a US citizen. By that I mean the taking away of habeas corpus, torture and the declaring of detainees as "non-persons." How ironic that President Obama is putting a black face on the Bush doctrine. Non-person indeed. This is dangerously akin to a slave being ruled to be 3/5th of a human being - just livestock or property to be traded or sold. I hope he is not tarnished by the moniker of "war criminal." I don't believe he should be. He won't if he acts fast to prosecute and bring to justice those who abused the constitution by torturing and committing other war crimes, like Cheney, Bush, Rice, John Yoo, William J. Haynes II, David Addington, Jay Bybee, Douglas Feith, Alberto Gonzales... If Obama doesn't prosecute, then it will be very embarrassing if some other country like Spain does.

Fanatical levels of controversy are created by the NRA, right-wing nuts, some people of no color and other fearful people who have an unnatural attachment to their beloved guns, but most Americans know that gun control laws protect them.

Haven't there been enough tragedies because of the easy access that people in America and around the world have to guns? The effect of the availability of arms are homicides, suicides, armed conflict, gender violence, hate crimes. It also affects public health, criminality and has a negative impact on human development.

Gun violence incidences are rising - Let us look at just one arena that may be of concern to you if you have children.
School violence:
* The average number of school-associated violent events with multiple victims has increased from one event per school year in 1992 to five events per year in 1998.

* In the 1992-2001 school years, shooting was the leading cause of violent deaths in schools (77%), and 68% of all school violent deaths occurred in high schools.

"The idea of the government "police" having all of the guns has not worked out to well for the people in this last century, thats why the first and the second amendment are next to each other because those two are the first things that geneocidal dictators go after first."

Government corruption and criminality is a huge problem, but as we see in the killing of many innocents in Gaza by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF), having a gun does not protect you from air assaults, tanks, cluster bombs, white phosphorous or other *new* weapons. More often, it is when governments collapse that guns fall into the hands of the wrong people.

As I pointed out before, the US is the leading exporter of arms. The size of the US industry is so large that its value has the combined total of the next eleven largest arms selling countries.

Arms sales have a correlation with underdevelopment in that third world country arms sales are greater than sales to developed countries. So it may well be that Rwandans have a greater concentration of arms in their country then we do in the US. Sure because their country is so poor (see arms sales and its relationship to debt and underdevelopment below), that they cannot afford to buy a gun. Food and shelter may be their only priority. As it should be. A Tutsi or Hutu having a gun to shoot and kill their neighbor would have just made the death count in the Rwanda genocide higher.

Often, third world countries cannot afford the large outlays of money to purchase arms and are forced to become indebted to developed countries, leaving a huge legacy of debt. The availability of arms has destabilized some countries, making it impossible to pay for social programs, such as education and healthcare. The arms trade is very lucrative for *friendly foreign governments* involved in arms sales, who persuade countries that they need to defend themselves, but contribute to corruption, violence and criminality in third world countries.

We all pay for the proliferation of arms, every citizen, those from the importing countries, as well as those from the exporting countries. This payment takes many forms: loan guarantees to buyers, forgiving unpaid or unpayable loans, funds diverted to the buyers from foreign aid programs, subsidies and tax breaks to arms manufacturers, government support of arms fairs, use of government personnel (e.g., for visits or sales promotion), and tax breaks for corrupt business practices (e.g., writing off advance payments to officials as business expenses).

Gun control reaches much further than an individual's right or privilege to own a gun. It is a world-wide problem with immense ramifications.

"Abortion in china is causing china to have 32 million more boys than girls in the near future, who gave them the right to play god, if a woman wants to rip out a living fetus and kill it, i am not going to support it, i am not going to ask someone to do something i am not willing to do myself."

As I said, I support the right of a woman to chose. China is a very different situation -- they have the additional problems of an exploding population and a government that is authoritarian and doesn't respect the human rights of the people, although they recently released a human rights plan that is encouraging if it is implemented.

Maybe "conservatives" who object to abortion should get behind gay marriage, since this coupling cannot result in the conceiving of a baby/embryo. Gay marriage will cut back on the number of people having children out of wedlock as well as unwanted pregnancies that may end in terminations. Think about it.

Also, what is the moral dilemma with teaching teens to use contraception if it will save a fetus? Isn't saving a life more important? Especially, since studies show that abstinence education does not work? If *conservatives* are so concerned about the welfare of the fetus, why don't they approve social services to help the mother -- why do they prefer to criminalize abortion and stigmatize women? You would think all they care about is the money they believe will come out of their pockets to help these poor women.

*Conservatives* humanitarian motives are questionable, especially since the Bush administration made abstinence education a prerequisite for any country getting money to fight AIDS.

According to the FBI 80% of the violent crime is caused by the 1.3 million gang members in this country that comes to about 0.8 percent of the US population there are approximately 90 million gun owners in this country. Guns are used 2.5 million times a year to stop crimes from happening. Criminals or madmen choose soft targets such as schools because they know that no one will be armed, if we use armed guards to protect athletes, rock stars, and politicians why not do the same for our most precious resource our children. In a recent study done school children overwhelmingly said that they want someone to be armed at school to prevent massacres from happening. Actually violent crime has gone down steadly over the past ten years nice try. As far as prosecuting the last administration that is like a third world country type of thing let spain prosecute if they want and water boarding is used in the military for traing purposes, president obama said that britain never tortured while being bombed in world war 2 that is wrong, the SAS is one of the most feared organizations in the world and they did torture german prisoners of war during world war 2 using sleep deprivation and other methods, so he should have picked another nation other than britain as some kind of warm fuzzy nation. I noticed that you mentioned that china has an authoritative government, do you think that government taking control of the banking system, auto motive industry, housing and health care is going towards being authoritative? I have to go but i will reply to some of your other responses my wife wants to use the computer.

So you're resorting to the old "the minorities" did it argument. They are causing 80% of the violent crimes in this country! SHAME ON YOU!

If this is the case that 80% of the "violent crimes" are committed by minorities, please put up a link to the statistics. I'd like to get as educated about it as you are. I note the wording "violent crimes" -- that would not necessarily mean gun violence.

Half of the people in jails are non-violent criminals. Minorities are disproportionately represented, particularly Black males -- "even though they make up less than 10 percent of the overall US population."

The U.S. Department of Justice has some interesting statistics online about Violence by Gang Members 1993-2003:

- Violent crimes for which victims identified the offender to be a gang member peaked in 1996 at 10% of all violent crime and decreased until 1998 to about 6%, not significantly changing since.

- On average for each year, gang members committed about 373,000 of the 6.6 million violent victimizations. Nonfatal violent acts measured include rape/sexual assault, robbery, aggravated assault, and simple assault.

- Victims believed that perpetrators were not gang members in 55% of all nonfatal violent crimes between 1998 and 2003, and victims were unsure of gang affiliation in 37%.

- The 1998-2003 average is lower than that for the 1993-96 period, when victims in about 9% of all
violent crimes believed the offenders to have been gang members.

- Violence by perceived gang members declined over most of the 11-year period, falling from a 1994 peak of about 1.1 million violent victimizations (5.2 per 1,000 persons age 12 or older) to 341,000 (1.4 per 1,000) in 2003.

Tragedy after tragedy with guns... a map of high profile GUN VIOLENCE in the US since 1997.

More sobering statistics: Gun Violence in our communities.
Children and Gun Violence
* America is losing too many children to gun violence. Between 1979 and 2001, gunfire killed 90,000 children and teens in America. (Children's Defense Fund and National Center for Health Statistics)
* In one year, more children and teens died from gunfire than from cancer, pneumonia, influenza, asthma, and HIV/AIDS combined. (Children's Defense Fund)
* The rate of firearm deaths among kids under age 15 is almost 12 times higher in the United States than in 25 other industrialized countries combined. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)

America and Gun Violence
* Every day, more than 80 Americans die from gun violence. (Coalition to Stop Gun Violence)
* The rate of firearm deaths among kids under age 15 is almost 12 times higher in the United States than in 25 other industrialized countries combined. (Centers for Disease Control and Prevention)
* American kids are 16 times more likely to be murdered with a gun, 11 times more likely to commit suicide with a gun, and nine times more likely to die from a firearm accident than children in 25 other industrialized countries combined. (Centers for Disease Control)

The following statistic reveals the leeway given to gun owners and the bias against "minorities":
Americans for Gun Safety produced a 2003 report that reveals that 20 of the nation’s 22 national gun laws are not enforced. According to U.S. Department of Justice data (FY 2000-2002), only 2% of federal gun crimes were actually prosecuted. Eighty-five percent of cases prosecuted relate to street criminals in possession of firearms. Ignored are laws intended to punish illegal gun trafficking, firearm theft, corrupt gun dealers, lying on a criminal background check form, obliterating firearm serial numbers, selling guns to minors and possessing a gun in a school zone.

There are over 20,000 gun laws in this country they need to be enforced instead of new laws. If someone is misusing guns and hurting innocent people THEY need to be punished not me or any other law abiding citizen. The real prolblem is not so much republican or democrat it is about liberty and how government is out of control with spending. Guns make it easier to kill someone yes but knives, lead pipes and baseball bats are still very effective as violent crime instruments, infact you are 47% likely to die from a stab wound, at the same time you are 15% likely to die from a gun shot. Do you agree with president obamas big spending and many bailouts for companies weakening the US dollar? Do you agree with the current adminsitration view that we should give amnesty to illegal aliens and by pass all of the people who are trying to get here legally and become US citizens? By the way google no duty to protect, supreme court and you will see case after case where police and government are not held liable for crimes committed against people. There is nothing in the constitution that gurantees safety for citizens against violent attack that is each and every persons responsibility to protect themselves. You have some very good statistics on violent crime using guns. Germany, russia and china are industrialized nations germany killed 6 million jews after they handed in there firearms, in 1929 to 1953 russia killed more than 35 million of its own citizens who are not allowed to keep guns outside of military and police, china killed over 20 million of its citizens who disagreed with the government, chinese are not allowed to own guns. Would you rather have some gun crime and the freedom to own guns or no guns for citizens and eventual government mass murder because thats usaully were it leads to, a society with out guns is a utopia that the left keeps trying to sell to the american people, its never going to happen. You need to change whats in mens hearts, there is still going to be violent crime because people are violent. A fetus is alive, a statement you made about saving a life, use contraceptives if you don't want an unwanted pregnancy.

thezenhaitian said...

So to review:
* There is no ban on guns anywhere in the United States.

* Minorities (i.e. gangbangers) are not responsible for most of the gun violence in the US, "gangs" commit only 6% of gun crimes according to the Dept of Justice.
Gun advocates (i.e. NRA and other right-wing nuts) use false statistics such as "80% of the violent crime is caused by the 1.3 million gang members" (which only reflects the high enforcement rate of gun laws relating to "street violence" as opposed to only 2% of gun laws enforced in "other" communities) to stir up panic and fear and to sell guns to people who have a fear of "minorities."

* Everyone, Democratic, Republican and Independent wants to safeguard children and the health of mothers, but differ on whether a woman has a right to chose to end a pregnancy. Democrats favor contraception, but Republicans want to continue the failed abstinence doctrine.

* On other issues, Republicans have had 8 years of unbridled power and just about ruined the country in every measurable way. Trickle-down does not work. De-regulation is a disaster - the "free-market" cannot regulate itself. It is a fact that Republican administrations always increase the debt. Reason.com explains, "the president [GWB] has expanded a wide array of "compassionate" welfare-state, defense, and nondefense programs. When it comes to spending, Bush is no Reagan. Alas, he is also no Clinton and not even Nixon. The recent president he most resembles is in fact fellow Texan and legendary spendthrift Lyndon Baines Johnson—except that Bush is in many ways even more profligate with the public till."

President Obama is doing his best to fix the mess. He has a 70% approval rating, so people certainly approve of the job he is doing.

Although I have major problems with the President on foreign policy, bailouts, stimulus bill and his administrations' slow response to the torture crimes... Obama's upholding of the Bush Doctrine is very shocking... he must prosecute these war crimes because the clamor from rights activist, the media (even Fixed News' Shepard Smith let out an squawk!) and the American people is getting louder and louder...

I have no confidence and no respect for the Republicans, not one iota. They are inflexible and their racism during the 2008 presidential campaign was despicable; with Sarah Palin's audience disintegrating into a mob mentality and accusations of "associations with terrorist" being thrown around carelessly by Palin that stoked the crowd's hatred for Obama. The US Secret Service blamed Palin over death threats against Barack Obama.

Your choice as a Black man to be a Republican is incomprehensible to me and absolutely nothing you can say would ever convince me to be other then an Independent.

Before i talk about how democrats and there liberal welfare reforms have hurt black families in this country, google zeitgeist and watch zeitgeist the addendum 2008 and zeitgeist the movie 2007 each are about two hours long and they explain a lot of what is going on in the world the truth behind everything. Now i am not going to defend bush to much even though i voted for him, but the rise in buying guns and ammo is because of senator obamas voting record as a senator in illinois was so anti gun that he supported a federal ban on concealed carry, a ban on any gun store within 5 miles of a park, school, or neighborhood which would shut down 90% of gun stores in the country, a 500% increase on taxes on guns and ammo, an assualt weapons ban which failed miserably not so much his color or fear of minorities like you stated. Democrats support an assualt weapons ban which i and alot of other like minded people believe that is the first step to more gun bans, why just stop with assualt weapons they will come after other types of guns until they get them all. Assualt weapons are the type of guns you need if islamic terrorist or mexican drug lords make there move on our country because the military and the federal government have proven that they cannot fight this type of unconventional war. In 1890 the number of intact black families with fathers and mothers at home was 80%. Over the next seven decades through 1960 that figure held remarkably constant, now in the 1970 decennial census they could not believe their eyes the number of intact black families had fallen to 64% for the next 20 years two parent families continued their free fall reaching a rock bottom 38% in 1990 and most of the remaining intact families were concentrated in the black middle class. In the inner city the traditional black family had essentially ceased to exist, so forced to compete with a liberal government welfare program, poor black men had suddenly found themselves persona non grata in their own homes. Like an unwelcome houseguest, uncle sam had moved in unpacked his bags and made himself a surrogate husband. With 1,452 black american children being killed each day by the heinous act of abortion and 3 out of 5 black american children aborted and you ask me as a black man why would you be a republican if thats my other choice then you can call me a republican and i will take that as a compliment. With statistics such as these how can you not see that liberal democrats are not racist after all. Hillary clinton came out after she was losing to obama. The republican and libertarian party preaches strong family values not more racist liberal destructive welfare programs that are destroying black families. PS I will keep my guns, my god and my money, you can keep the change! Good night.

I've seen the Zeitgeist movie. It does not have much to say about democrats and their agenda. It speaks of the systems that Democrats AND Republicans support. You seem confused, perhaps you should watch "Zeitgeist the movie" AGAIN to get that. Also, the version of the movie I saw in 2007 (the official release), starts with a lecture about religion. It debunks some myths about religion. The movie puts forward the thesis and offers proof that *God* and religion are a convenient creation of man based on astronomy, astrology and myth.

This movie is presented from a progressive point of view. Republicans and most Democrats represent a regressive agenda that upholds the status quo (see description of the "norm" from the movie below).

You have demonstrated by mindlessly regurgitating right wing propaganda and unsupported statistics that you lack the ability to think for yourself.

Unless you have credible sources and links for the *information* you present, please do not post here.

As they say in Zeitgeist, Addendum -
"The old appeals to racial, sexual or religious chauvinism, to rabid nationalist fervor are beginning not to work." You Al, are are who the Z movie is talking about: "We were seeing how very important it is to bring about in the human mind, the radical revolution. The crisis is a crisis in consciousness. A crisis that cannot, anymore accept the old norms, the old patterns, the ancient traditions. And, considering what the world is now, with all the misery, conflict, destructive brutality, aggression and so on. Man is still as he was, is still brutal, violent, aggressive, acquisitive, competitive and he's built a society along these lines."Don't be mislead, Republicans AND Democrats support a regressive ideology - the status quo as described above.
