Funny or Dead: Prez Says "Grow Some Balls" Obama

"Barack Obama gets a surprise visit in the night from ex-Presidents Bush Sr., Bush Jr., Clinton, Ford, Reagan and Carter to get a few pointers about the Consumer Financial Protection Agency and why it's so important."

funny or die funny men one woman
Will Farrell, Dana Carvey and Dan Akroyd in Funny or Die's Presidential Reunion video.

Obama goes to bed with concerns about consumer protection. Michelle's advice as she reads Oprah's O Magazine: "Go to bed, Honey. You're heart will tell you what to do."

What is this video getting at you ask? Basically, wake up Obama, your presidency is sinking unless you establish the Consumer Finance Protection Agency and get it through Congress.

Presidents dead and alive, reunite in an all-star SNL skit we would all want to see if SNL was still the hot star minting commodity it was in the 80s and 90s. The video stars Jim Carrey as Ronald Reagan, Will Farrell as Bush Jr., Darrell Hammond as William Jefferson Clinton, Dana Carvey as Bush Sr., Dan Akroyd as Jimmy Carter, Chevy Chase as Gerald Ford, Fred Armisen and Maya Rudolph are Barack and Michelle Obama. Directed by Ron Howard, the comedians of SNL past and present still have a dream.

The Obama character's dream is reminiscent of "A Christmas Carol," but differs in that it is a pep talk rather than a nightmarish scenario. Ebenezer Scrooge's ghosts of the past and the present were ever more scary. This Funny or Die video incapsulates for us the nightmare that has been American leadership over the years. Moving forward a precipice beckons if Main Street does not get more support. Government came to the aid of the Banksters and failing auto giants but so far no real relief for average folks.

The lines from Jim Carrey's Ronald Reagan (spot on portrayal!) most tickled my funny bone: "Well, I'm dead, but I'm going to be a guest on Dancing with the Stars" or "Grow some balls [Obama]" or "I went against Tip O'Neil with nothing but a psychic oracle and these pendulous balls." Instant classic!

Obama, all the presidential funny men affirm: "we messed everything up royally," but "Tag you're it" and "Grow some nuts for the Gipper."

Jimmy Carter was the exception, as the video points out. He warned about the stew the U.S. would be in if there wasn't an effort to conserve energy and do the hard and unpopular things. Of course Reagan came into power and removed the solar panels that Carter had installed on the White House. Ballsy act, but dead wrong.

The Democrats are showing "signs of life." The good news is that there was a forum for open debate about healthcare with the President (the summit on healthcare) and since bipartisanship is not something that interests the Republicans, the Democrats have said they will pass healthcare reform with a simple majority or the reconciliation process that will bypass the Party of no's filibusters.

As a vocal critic of president Obama, I have to give him credit when it's due. Yesterday, Obama made it clear that he'd drawn a line and reached a point where he was moving forward with his health care plan, with or without the Republican party.

This is a decisive, strong leadership move. It's coming late, but better late than never.

Now 35 Democratic Senators support passing a Public Option through reconciliation. Democracy for America has the list. You can become a citizen co-sponsor.

Visit the Funny or Die website for a couple of good laugh.

Where is the money going to come from to pay for this new entitlement program? If obama keeps spending money that we do not have the dollar is going to reach zero value. Do you know what happens to a country when the currency reaches zero value? One lawsuit can stop obama and the US government on constitutional grounds with this healthcare bill because it violates first amendment rights. The problem with socialism is that you eventually run out of other peoples money.

In the 1920s there was a republican president named warren G harding who came into office with an america with an 11.9 percent unemployment rate, warren cut government spending in half, unregulated business and the unemployment rate went down to 1.8 percent and peoples incomes rose 25 percent because you payed less taxes. We have a president that is going in the opposite direction, he is growing government and inserting it into every nook and cranny of your body.

Al: From what you describe as you're ideal country, I'd suggest Somalia. No government, no social programs, no taxes and the Somali pirates (like Wall St, the Banksters and Insurance industry) are thriving in the "free" market capitalist system of Somalia (you know -- winner takes all).

Rush Limbaugh is as disgusted with "Obamacare" and "socialism" as you are. He says he will be moving to Nova Scotia if Healthcare reform passes. The only problem with that is NS is a socialist country according to Limbaugh's rantings... they have free healthcare.

If america fails to stand for freedom there really is not any where to go. Socialism is not freedom, 40 percent of americans work to take care of the other 60 percent as obama takes over 50% of the government and gives people yet another reason not to get a job by extending unemployment benifits for life and raising taxes on those who still believe in working, eventually if government continues on this route nobody is going to be left to pay the bill, why work if the government is going to give me everything i need and the government will colapse under its own weight but alot of people think that it will never break and we can go one printing money with no consequence to the dollar and i guess we will all be around to see what happens god bless.

I disagree with you on that... plenty of functioning democracies in the world. Why some have even recovered from the global economic crisis that Bush and his Cabal unleashed.

I sincerely hope your job is secure, Al. Good luck.

In your opinion what country is better to live in or more free than america? I have 14 years on my job and i own 20 acres of land in florida and alabama so if push comes to shove i will hunt, fish and grow my own food if i have to. Bush was a republican but he did not adhere to conservative principles he spent money to the tune of a deficit of 400 billion and obama has grown that to a few trillion now the real republicans want to add a balanced budget amendment to the constitution. Why would the democrats oppose that?

Al- Unfortunately, not many countries have a real democracy, including the U.S.

Most Americans live in a state of suburban amnesia. You can call that "freedom" if you want. The U.S. State Dept, the U.S. "Just-U.S." Dept and other U.S. gov't institutions (with the help of the embedded media) are experts at keeping knowledge of the hideous, criminal and subversive things they do in countries like Haiti propagandized, sanitized and secret from the American public. Not that too many are interested in the truth...

The U.S. veneer of "freedom" is slowly peeling away though. Obama just approved the Patriot Act, which allows the U.S. gov't to spy covertly on Americans. The Patriot Act has stripped many of the "freedoms" that American citizens enjoyed. So the tyranny that the U.S. has unleashed in Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan, Pakistan, Yemen, Somalia, Republic of Congo, Nigeria, and other countries of the global south may soon be visited on the American people.

It is as MLK said, injustice anywhere is injustice everywhere.

Be sure to roost some chickens when you move to your acres in Alabama and Florica.

Since the conditions in your native Michigan are not conducive for hunting and fishing, I hope your Haitian wife and yourself are learning the basics of a pioneer lifestyle as you foresee before you make the move down south.

I don't know much about fiscal policy -- but I'm guessing the Democrats know that a spending freeze or caps will not help an economy which is in an unprecedented recession... I don't hear about any Republicans actually turning down any of the stimulus money. Have you?

History shows that Republicans come in and run up the deficit, then a Democrat has to clean up the mess that "real" Republican's made while in office. In Bush Jr.'s case, he started two wars on Chinese credit cards.

By the way, glad to hear that "real" Republicans (with "principles?" Are you kidding?) disavow George W. Bush, even if it isn't for his lies, scuttling of the constitution, war crimes and being the most disgraceful, incompetent and worst president ever...

Most americans now that the CIA and there kin are not nice guys, are they supposed to be in some instances? The united states and any other country is made up of men and men are flawed.I do not know how much you now about american history but during world war 2 there were over 51 internment camps all over the united states housing americans of japanese, italian and german descent the largest one was in texas. When governments get scared they do scary things, right now the tea party movement is the soft war against the government, the obama adminstration is scared of the american people based on what his appointies have said who is the real threat in this country. Obamas justice department appointie said islamic terrorism is not a threat to america rather it is pro life americans which makes up 51% of the american population, survivalist types, well they are not going to stand in line for a handout. Here is another tidbit about american history not every american supported the american revolution against great britain only one third of americans backed the patriots mostly in the northern states, most of the south was loyalists which meant they were loyal to the king of england. So basically not everyone is going to pick up a gun and fight the hard war a lot of people are going to turn in there guns if the government goes there, but everyone can get involved in the soft war such as the tea party. By the way michigan is good for hunting and fishing i just do not own alot of land up here.

I don't know where to begin with all of these unsupported statements. What strikes me as particularly erroneous is your statement that pro-life Americans make up 51% of the American population.

I'll be getting back to you with a more detailed response that addresses all the unsupported statements you've made.

Al- We're way off topic here... The tea bag crowd are racist idiots. The American revolution is over, the right people won.

Now for a consumer protection agency that looks out for the workers and middle class.
