I belong to several and you can get things done by having a lobbyist in congress were decisions are made. The government cannot be expected to develop a sincere compasion on its own.ALnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963634147818607625.post-65216653704502333942009-05-09T10:11:00.000-04:002009-05-09T10:11:00.000-04:00What i am trying to say is that if i am correct ha...What i am trying to say is that if i am correct haiti was independent in 1804 most of the other countries around haiti were still being financed by colonial powers, haiti with early independence and with france creating debt for haiti and america and others refusing to recogize it, haiti would have had to make a choice to either take by force resources it needed or to remain stagnant and slip into deeper poverty, what kind of country would america be if the only war we fought was the american revolution, in most regards it would be a smaller less powerful country. I am playing devils advocate here what has haiti done for the US with the exception of the seige in savannah which happen over two hundred years ago, jamaica is a very popular tourist attraction for many americans and mexicans provide cheap labor that in my opinion is the reason that the border has not been sealed. Latin american countries with the exception of venezuela are important trade partners for the US. Question, what if haiti had in its early years taken over the rest of the carribean and a lot of latin america through military might and today controlled alot of those resources, do you think that the US would regard haitian immigrants in the same light if there country controlled tourist idustries and oil and agricutural products that the US needs? Cuban illegal immigrants get to stay here because our government does not like there government so what better way to entice people from that country than to give them special status as citizens if they reach our shores. It is political on how the US treats immigrants depending on which country they are coming from and what kind of relationship there country has with ours. You could also say that it is racial because if haitians were white would they be singled out to be sent back into there country.ALnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963634147818607625.post-19493363493126914232009-05-09T07:13:00.000-04:002009-05-09T07:13:00.000-04:00I don't need a history lesson about Mexico. None of that is relevant to a discussion about the discriminatory US immigration policies towards Haitians.

Mexico, Jamaica and a bunch of other countries you can bring up are independent countries. The mexican american war was started by the US by stationing US troops in mexican territory and when one of them was shot it was a call to go to war. In haiti's case they won there revolution, in those days it was totally exceptable to use military might to get more resources, but they never tried to expand and become more powerful and usually you can't wait for nations to except you, you will soon find yourself surrounded by bigger, stronger nations, you have to continue to eat or be eaten so to speak, it is a little bit more diplomatic today but the same game is being played on different fronts.ALnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5963634147818607625.post-64560128952848829572009-05-08T20:18:00.000-04:002009-05-08T20:18:00.000-04:00E, e, Mbomba, e, e! The Haitian Revolution lasted 13 bloody years and involved the world's greatest powers then - Britain, Spain and France. All were defeated.

Haiti is the home of the proud descendants of the freedom fighters and victors who were the first to end slavery and declare freedom for ALL - that is history.

The US and its allies Canada and France have won this battle, but they have not won the war. The God who holds up the ocean; who makes the thunder roar. Our God who has ears to hear. You who are hidden in the clouds; who watch us from where you are. You see all that the white has made us suffer. The white men's god asks him to commit crimes. But the God within us wants to do good. Our God, who is so good, so just, He orders us to avenge our wrongs. It's He who will direct our arms and bring us the victory. It's He who will assist us. We all should throw away the image of the white men's god who is so pitiless. Independence comes at a great price, america in between the revolutionary war and the war of 1812 would have taken over canada had the british not sent huge renforcements and to spite the americans the british would not hand over the ex slave blacks who fought for the british instead they sent them to nova scotia, britain and seirra leone. Like i said independence comes at a great price it is either sink or swim once you go that route.ALnoreply@blogger.com
