At the Democratic debate on Tuesday night in Las Vegas, the moves were calculated to distance the candidates from George W. Bush and his failed presidency; to show party unity by emphasizing the common ideals of the three candidates (Obama, Clinton and Edwards); to strike a differing pose from your gentile opponent when the opening was opportune; and to show as much (not too much) vulnerability as necessary to appeal to the fickle "single women voters".
Obama -- I see your tearing up at a question from a supporter and I move a; "my desk is so crowded, I tell staffers not to give me any papers until half an hour before I need it; so it doesn't get lost".
