USAID is Meant to Cripple & Destroy Countries

The Shelters That Clinton Built: Structurally unsafe and
formaldehyde laced, the "hurricane-proof" classroom trailers
installed by the Clinton Foundation in Haiti came from the
same company being sued for sickening Hurricane Katrina
victims. Warren Buffet's company was paid $1 million;
same amount he donated to HRC's campaign.
"USAID Go Home" is a 1996 article on the Third World Traveler website (still relevant today) and what a number of countries, such as Russia, Bolivia, Venezuela, Eritrea... have said to US spooks masquerading as aid in their country. False aid some folks call it. In Haiti it is a major issue (see here, here and here).

The headlines say its the end of foreign aid as we know it... "President Donald Trump’s vow to put “America first” includes a plan to drastically cut assistance to developing countries and merge the State Department with USAID, according to an internal budget document and sources.

The administration’s March budget proposal vowed to slash aid to developing countries by over one-third..."

This is Orwellian doublespeak of course, because the plan has always been to "put America first."

Donald Trump is reiterating what USAID and Hillary Clinton (see below) have both been caught candidly admitting:

"The United States Agency for International Development (USAID), which has spent more than $1.5 billion in Haiti, explains its goal as “furthering America’s interests.” In a more candid assessment, contained in a document now over a decade-old and no longer publicly available, USAID explained that “the principal beneficiary of America’s foreign assistance programs has always been the United States.”
"Is USAID Helping Haiti to Recover, or US Contractors to Make Millions?"
by Jake Johnston | The Nation, January 21, 2015

America first is the plan. It's working just as it was designed to. What do you have to add to that Candidate Clinton?

“I believe that together we can make America great again,”
–William Jefferson Clinton in his 1991 presidential announcement speech.

.. and America is not great. You don't get an "A" for originality, because Ronald Reagan used it as his campaign slogan (perhaps foreshadowing Iran-Contra, Grenada war(!), the delayed AIDS response debacle, scapegoating Black women as welfare moms, tax hikes...).

Evidently, American presidents have a major problem with other countries acting in THEIR national interest though (Iraq, Afghanistan, Libya, Yemen, Syria, Palestine, Venezuela, Haiti, Honduras, Iran, Somalia, Rwanda, Ivory Coast, ... this could go on for a while). One could argue that Saudi Arabia and America have a lot in common, seeing as how they both like a good decapitation strategy.

The Red Cross bought them tainted water during a UN initiated cholera epidemic.
A woman explains that the Red Cross recently visited the
camp to give vaccinations. Al Jazeera video exposing the
Red Cross' real mission in Haiti. It wasn't to help the people
with what they really needed to stay healthy: clean
drinking water. As the UN cholera infestation spread, the Red
Cross delivered unpurified water that made the people sick.

USAID being stripped of funds would be wonderful news for the impoverished global south. It would necessitate the immediate building of sound infrastructure and hopefully speed development; were it true. Alas, this is not the desire of the deep state establishment and Donald Trump has done a number of 180's in his stands so far; no withdrawal from Afghanistan being one. As campaign rhetoric is often just that; this is to be expected. A note to whoever may be planning a "decapitation" (Kathy Griffin, Brad Sherman... ), had you thought maybe President Donald Trump is actually not the right head?

UN/USAID/World Bank are the three-headed hydra monster representing the corporatocracy in Haiti. What a headache to be aided to death by these thieving aid agencies? They do the exact opposite of what they are supposed to do, which is end the need for their services. The old saying goes: "teach a man to fish", but these poverty pimps only take away the ability of a country to produce enough food to feed its people and replace it with a cycle of aid dependency.

When there is an end to this type of headline: "Canada Buys a "Lead" Role On Haiti Recovery Team;" we can look forward to a world where the miserable business of impoverishing a people is not profitable to foreign governments, who come to speculate and bid on men, women and children's sad existence as pawns in a global game of unbridled greed in the name of vulture capitalism.
"Aid is meant to cripple people. Governments in Africa are not allowed to write their own programs." – Isaias Afwerke, Eritrean President
"It's hard enough for today's citizens to figure out what our western governments are really doing in the world, so just imagine being a target of their policies overseas. When programmes branded as "aid" can cause serious harm, and their failures are blamed on the would-be recipients, confusion is sure to ensue... In this light, the aims of Washington or London can be as inscrutable to a vulnerable, crisis-racked country as the intentions of a half-seen cat are to a mouse."

On the third anniversary of the Haiti earthquake, it's time to question the US's helping hand

"NGOs who are such a force multiplier for us and such an important part of our combat team." – Colin Luther Powell (former US Secretary of State and War criminal who presented false evidence of WMDs to UN to start Iraq invasion/destruction)/Counterpunch
USAID is a poverty pimping US government secret service operation to uphold corporatist "interests."
"In Latin America, USAID has long earned a reputation of an organization whose offices are, in fact, intelligence centers scheming to undermine legitimate governments in a number of the continent's countries. The truth that USAID hosts CIA and US Defense Intelligence Agency operatives is not deeply hidden, as those seem to have played a role in every Latin American coup, providing financial, technical, and ideological support to respective oppositions. USAID also typically seeks engagement with the local armed forces and law-enforcement agencies, recruiting within them agents ready to lend a hand to the opposition when the opportunity arises." – End to USAID Spying Looms in Latin America by Nil NIKANDROV | 26.09.2012
The goal is for local government to lose control of vital public services, agriculture, electricity, water, construction, manufacturing, telecommunications... anything that will may have the ability to put money into the local economy and empower that country's leadership is sucked away, thus making them dependent on the predator economies of the global north and their pimps.

Chemonics, a leading USAID recipient of multi-million dollar contracts in Haiti. After the Haiti earthquake USAID gave Chemonics the lead role in one example: a "cash for work" program in Fort National. Chemonics (CEPR: Haiti Relief and Reconstruction Watch) they played a large part (as did William Jefferson* Clinton) in Haiti's loss of its food security:
Chemonics is a subsidiary of ERLY Industries, which is also the parent company of American Rice Inc. American Rice was perhaps the largest benefactor of the influx of "Miami rice" in the 80s and 90s in Haiti, wiping out thousands of Haitian farmers who could not compete with the cheaper, subsidized imported rice. American Rice Inc. officials were found to have paid bribes in 1998-1999 to custom officials in order to avoid import tariffs (already by then some of the lowest in the hemisphere due to IMF and World Bank policies). Chemonics has close ties to USAID, and relies on government contracts for over 90% of its revenue.
More on Chemonics at CEPR:
"... But Chemonics, whose contract with USAID explicitly states that decisions about what programs to fund “will be based upon US foreign policy interests in consultation” with the State Department, worked to further USAID’s objectives of “counter[ing] the destabilizing effects” and the “growing discontent” with the pace of reconstruction. They ran PR for the new industrial park, installing benches and flower planters in nearby areas to “project a positive image.” An audit later noted that the flowers soon died “from lack of care,” while the mayor decried the lack of community involvement. But business was good for Chemonics, whose CEO at the time received a $2.5 million bonus."

In Haiti, the US orchestrated two coups against the democratically elected government of Jean-Bertrand Aristide forcing their neoliberal agenda of privatization of all public industries and services. They bring in their poverty pimps to provide services that the "failed" Haitian government is unable to... no matter that they targeted that government with sanctions, boycotts, opposition groups, thugs, assassins... whatever means necessary to bring about the so-called "failure" of "socialism." Is it socialism, communism or a dictatorship when they destroy a country... they are interchangeable terms used by these fascist; a distraction from their role in destroying a country; bringing war, chaos and death, while promising that capitalist predators, central banks, foreign control will bring back order. Ezili Dantò calls this neoliberal nazi raid and plunder technique "playing arsonist and firemen."

They actually have reached their goal when a country can be declared a "failed state"... if there wasn't anything to fix, there wouldn't be any money to be made and they're influence would be negligible.

"Helpfully, powerful leaders now and again stop to explain their motivations. One such moment came in a speech given in October 2011 by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton. Addressing an audience of wealthy New Yorkers, she laid out a vision of what the US is trying to accomplish in the world; it was
"The question should always be "how will this
affect our economic growth?"
very telling for those trying to understand foreign aid – and its younger, hipper cousin, investment.

Clinton told the audience: "Our problems have never respected dividing lines between global economics and international diplomacy. And neither can our solutions." That is why, she explained, she has put "economic statecraft" at the heart of the US foreign policy agenda. Clinton further defined how the US can use "the forces and tools of global economics" to bolster American "diplomacy and presence" abroad and to strengthen the economy at home. She argued that America should "put economics at the center" of its foreign policy. In foreign relations, the question should always be "how will this affect our economic growth?"

A superpower such as the US would, of course, always consider its domestic interests, especially economic ones, when it acts abroad."
– Disaster aid: how US charity begins at home by Jonathan Katz
On the third anniversary of the Haiti earthquake, it's time to question the US's helping hand

They project their destructive naked greed for power and control on their victims. Venezuela is going through a stage of globalist terror that happened in Haiti in 1990 and again in 2004. Haiti is a proving ground for most terror tactics before they go global south, with the help of the corporatist media and their millionaire news anchor stenographers.
Ezili Dantò: Barack Obama and Bill Clinton did not “build Haiti back
better.” Where did the money go? Haiti recovery was about US land
grabbing, privatization of Haiti assets, militarizing Haiti police,
amending Haiti Constitution to better dominate and tightening
the occupation further with Martelly puppet government

Unfortunately, during these interventions, occupations, US intelligence financed death squad (FRAPH) cleansing of political opposition, bio-terrorism (UN cholera, USAID vaccines/"birth-control"/expired medicines... ); some have even found convincing evidence of weather manipulation and earthquake's from either frakking or HARPP (Venezuela and Russia both say the 2010 Haiti earthquake was man-made).

To make sure their control is not threatened the US has controlled every election since the coups in order to assure that real democracy did not have a ghost of a chance. The Empire's usual storm troopers - the Haitian (drug cartel) army were disbanded by surprise presidential winner Aristide after he was elected by a landslide over the US' (former World Bank executive) candidate – Marc Bazin)

Turns out, Hillary Clinton was a great strategic choice by Barack Obama for his Secretary of State given her experience in rigging elections.

“I do not think we should have pushed for an election in the Palestinian territories. I think that was a big mistake... and if we were going to push for an election, then we should have made sure that we did something to determine who was going to win.”
                         – Hillary Rodham Clinton (2006 interview with The Jewish Press)

Obama named Bill Clinton the UN "special envoy" to Haiti in 2009 and and after the devastating 2010 Haiti earthquake, Clinton was teamed with George W. Bush to form the Clinton Bush Haiti Fund because of all the special things he'd done for Haiti... i.e. "free trade reforms", destroying rice production to boost subsidized Arkansas rice farmers, mass starvation resulting from Haiti's inability to feed its people... good times.

Nothing much is changing, but if the Trump administration were to actually put an end to USAID's immense reach in countries like Haiti, it could end the unrelenting, cold, and calculated cycle of misery, impoverishment and underdevelopment. Withdrawing aid could impact Haiti in a very positive way and just maybe it could make America seem kinda nice again.

The Best Laid Plans of Mice & Men Go Boom

The rapture is near and you'd better get your affairs in order is the message in this video. But is there a "master plan", which can explain this inevitable downfall of the world's most powerful nation?

It's right there in front of your untrained eyes in the religious symbolism of Ancient Egypt, the architectural plans of Washington, DC and Astana, Kazakhstan.

The best laid plans of mice and men often go astray
--Robert Burns
TheGroxt1 guides us through a labyrinth of symbolic themes from Egypt, the Bible, and Free Masonry to prepare us for the apocalypse.

Astana, Kazakhstan - Astana is a planned city such as Canberra in Australia, Washington, DC and Brasilia, in Brazil. It became the new capital city of Kazakhstan in 1998. It is said to be the "occult" vision of one man, Nursultan Nazarbayev, the President of Kazakhstan. It is the first capital built in the 21st century. The master plan of Astana was designed by Japanese architect Kisho Kurokawa. It has some features that are said to be of Masonic structure, which embraces Egyptian symbolism. Egyptian architecture very often depicts symbols of one of the most ancient religions known to man, Sun Worship.

Interesting tidbit: before becoming the planned city of Astana, in 1992, the city had been renamed Akmola (Kazakh: Ақмола), meaning "a white grave".

The Worship of Aten Akhenaton, (aka, "The Heretic Pharaoh") is one of ancient Egypt's most controversial Pharaohs. Like no other Pharaoh before him, he abandoned the traditional Egyptian polytheism and started worship centered on Aten, God of the solar disc. The Heretic King is believed to be the first person to promote a monotheistic religion, the belief in only one god. He claimed, There is only one god, my father. I can approach him by day, by night. The king wrote about being visited by beings that came from the sky, and the ancient Egyptians worshipped him as a god, believing he was a direct descendent of Aten. This was known as Atenism. It has been suggested that Akhenaton was actually the founder of the Judeo-Christian religion. Sigmund Freud argued that Moses was an Atenist priest who had been forced to leave Egypt with his followers after the Heretic King's death. Freud believed that Moses achieved the monotheism that Akhenaton sought to promote.

The New World Order folks may have a hand in the building and plans for Kazakhstan's new "futuristic" capital?

Jonathan Aitken, a British Conservative Party leader and disgraced (he plead guilty to perjury and perverting the course of justice) politician, who is currently the honorary president of Christian Solidarity Worldwide (CSW) is featured in the CNN cited story below as a biographer and one of "Nazarbayev's strongest supporters."

Interestingly, it emerged in 1995 when Aitken was being investigated for his dealings with leading Saudis that he was chairman of a secretive right wing think-tank called Le Cercle, alleged by Alan Clark (deceased British Conservative Member of Parliament (MP) -- died of a brain tumor) to be funded by the CIA.

Astana: The world's weirdest capital city

In 1997 Kazakhstan's President Nursultan Nazarbayev moved the capital from Almaty in the southeast of the country to the newly-named Astana (previously it was called Akmola), which was then an empty patch of land by the Ishim River best known as a former gulag prison camp for the wives of Soviet traitors."

"... The city's futuristic design shows Kazakhstan's ambition and desire to distance itself from the Soviet legacy that has marred many of the surrounding Central Asian nations.

"Architecture always represents the development of the state, of technology and of culture," notes Rustambekov. "As Astana is positioning itself as the center of Eurasia, a place where East meets West, a mixture of styles is quite appropriate."

According to this self-styledChristian watch group, the multinational organization Christian Solidarity Worldwide's membership includes "ideological forces", such as the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR). Here is their Board of Directors (BOD) and membership roster,  and Masonic/Illuminati people.

"... The purpose of this series is to examine the counter movement that is mobilizing thousands of Christian churches to political activism against global persecution. Is the religious persecution movement a Christian movement? Has the information disseminated to Christians been accurate? Who are the principal figures involved in leading this movement? Are they true Christians? Are they advocating Scriptural principles? If this is not a Christian movement, then whose agenda is being advanced?

Our research has discovered that modern Christians are being manipulated by ideological forces that are diametrically opposed to the faith of Jesus Christ. The Church has been infiltrated by change agents who have been trained to use the worthy ideals of Christianity to advance a larger agenda. Financed by wealthy foundations, these individuals have multiplied programs ostensibly dedicated to missions, prayer, revival, Bible study, Christian education, restoring marriage and the family, rescuing the unborn - and now Christian martyrs.

Because true Christians love righteousness and hate evil, they tend to join these movements without asking questions. The purpose of Watch Unto Prayer is to research these programs and movements and to present information that enables Christians to make informed judgments about them.

... In 1997, Christianity Today carried a story: "Through bombs and bullets: Baroness Caroline Cox offers aid and advocacy to persecuted Christians." This heroine of the persecuted church is acclaimed by CT to have written a book, The Rape of Reason, The Corruption of the Polytechnic of North London "in which she upbraids the 'physiognomy of hatred' propagated by hardline Marxist/Leninist esprit breeding at the school."

We discovered that the co-authors of this book with Caroline Cox were Keith Jacka and John Marks. Sir Keith Jacka Holyoake, now the Governor General and Prime Minister of New Zealand, is found on the list of Famous Freemasons."

Dear America: #BringBackOurSovereignty

People are growing suspicious of the hysterical press coverage of the missing girls in Nigeria. They wonder: why isn't the U.S. equally concerned about the numerous other pressing issues happening to innocent men, women and children globally?

An American friend of mine echos this concern:
Okay, I am officially smelling a rat in this Nigerian abduction story. You can never, ever trust hysteria in the media because it is always a sure sign of political manipulation. Is the US up in arms about the millions of homeless children in the world? About the millions of child workers? About the sweatshop workers in Bangladesh who lost their lives so horrifically? About the mass rapes of women in Guatemala by the military and US special forces? About the mass rapes of Congolese women by militias in the hire of western jewelers? About the massive evictions of Roma throughout Europe, including elderly, children, infirm, and disabled? So why the hell would it give a rat's ass about young girls in Nigeria!?

Doesn't this story resonate with all that Kony 2012 baloney that went down the tubes when the guy got naked and danced in the public streets? It smacks of the same hysteria and manipulation. The US is sending in the marines to liberate women again. Where have we heard that tune before?

I don't question that young girls were abducted; I don't question that the Nigerian government has not lifted a finger to find them. Boko Haram may be as politically wacky and scary as they're described--just like Joseph Kony and the Lord's Resistance Army were described in the Kony 2012 hysteria. But the US Pentagon is not sending advisors, soldiers, special forces to Nigeria on behalf of young girls. It's up to something much more malignant and scary.

Just today another friend posted a link to an article expressing a similar concern, this time from the vantage point Nigerians and Africans:
"Here’s the thing though, when you pressure Western powers, particularly the American government to get involved in African affairs and when you champion military intervention, you become part of a much larger problem. You become a complicit participant in a military expansionist agenda on the continent of Africa. This is not good.

You might not know this, but the United States military loves your hashtags because it gives them legitimacy to encroach and grow their military presence in Africa. AFRICOM (United States Africa Command), the military body that is responsible for overseeing US military operations across Africa, gained much from #KONY2012 and will now gain even more from #BringBackOurGirls."

No hysterical news coverage at all about the humanitarian disasters in Haiti: over 10,000 Haitians dead from the imported UN cholera by the Nepalese UN soldiers. Not that it wasn't an awful tragedy, but there was more coverage about the 12 Sherpas dead from that Everest avalanche, than the There are over 9,000 troops stationed throughout the entire country. They are not there to secure, develop or help the people of Haiti, but to exploit and rob it of the valuable natural resources.
(#BringBackYourUNTroops / #StopTheUNOccupationOfHaiti)

The UN has been conducting a brutal, deadly, racist proxy US occupation of Haiti for 10 years. The U.S. conspired with France and Canada to removed Haiti's first democratically elected government (BTW: during the aftermath of the U.S. coup Condi "Oil Tanker" Rice warned President Aristide to stay out of the Western Hemisphere!). The "international community" have had their puppets in place in Haiti ever since.

The Martelly/Lamothe regime have not held elections in over two years and their administration is top-heavy with Martelly's buddies: right-wing thugs and Duvalierist. These two American citizens in power in Haiti (another violation of the Haitian constitution) are facing almost daily protests from the population for their repressive and deadly reign of terror. So much so, that their latest weapon is a toxic water cannon truck to deter dissent. This weapon can be deadly if the Pepper Spray dosage instructions are not precisely followed.

Boko Haram: A CIA Covert Operation; America’s Destabilization Plots Against Nigeria–GreenWhite Coalition  "The US and its allies then argued that the intervention of outside powers such as the US and its western allies was the tonic needed to move the ECOMOG operation forward. But in order to prevent any worldwide backlash against this blatant interference in what should be a regional African initiative, the US and its allies sought to present it under the auspices of the United Nations with a select Asian and Latin American countries participating."

"In response to the growing influence of a rapidly expanding industrial China in Africa, the goal of AFRICOM is to seize key strategic areas in Africa and bring them under US control in order to block China’s access to vital energy and mineral resources for its expanding economy. But to effectively carry this out, such African countries of strategic importance must first of all be weakened internally and made to feel so vulnerable that they would have to inevitably seek US protection or intervention."

Emmanuel Constant:
New World Order Thug Sentenced

In news from the new world trials and new world courts, Emmanuel Constant purveyor of violence, rape, murder and intimidation was sentenced today for mortgage fraud. The possible jail term for Mr. Constant is 12+ to 37 years.

Activist have fought to see that Mr. Constant not be deported to Haiti where his cohorts in FRAPH who took part in the 2004 coup reside in the relatively secure knowledge that they will never again see the inside of a court or jail. The dreaded Front for Advancement and Progress in Haiti (FRAPH) is an entity launched by the CIA.
"Emannuel Constant, leader of Haiti's FRAPH hit squad, worked for CIA and U.S. Intel helped launch FRAPH. Haiti's dreaded attaches paid for by a U.S. gvt-funded project that maintains sensitive files on Haiti's poor. In 10/3/94, issue of nation carried Nairn's article "the eagle is landing," he quoted a U.S. official praising Constant as a young republican that U.S. Intel had encouraged to form FRAPH. Constant confirmed that account. He first said his handler was Col. Patrick Collins, CIA attache in Haiti, and later claimed another U.S. official urged him to form FRAPH. Collins first approached Constant while he taught a course at hqs of CIA-run national intel service (SIN*) and built up a computer data base at bureau of info and coordination. FRAPH originally was called Haitian resistance league. Constant was working for the CIA at SIN while it attacked the poor.
The nation 10/24/94 458
"
In 2004 a lawsuit was filed by women who were brutalized by members of FRAPH under the leadership of Emmanuel Constant. At the time Constant was living in Queens, NY and his neighbors were none too happy.
"Constant has been allowed to live freely in the US after threatening to reveal the full extent of his ties to the CIA. The US government has ignored several requests for his extradition. Constant was arrested in a separate case last month—not for human rights abuses but for committing mortgage fraud."

Che Guevara
International Freedom Fighter

che_cigarOctober 9, 2009 will mark the 42th anniversary of the execution of Ernesto "Che" Guevara. Che's execution was carried out by Felix Rodriguez, an agent of the CIA. Che Guevara is often characterized as a psychopath and a murderer by his detractors. The irony is that this only amounts to name-calling because Che was never tried in a court of law for any crime whatsoever. However, it is well documented that Che was summarily executed by Rodriguez, who pocketed Che's wristwatch as a souvernir. This was a psychopathic, murderous and criminal act sponsored by the CIA whose specialty then (now strickly prohibited of course?) was extra-judicial killings and the making of heroes and legends.

Che Guevara and Fidel Castro led a revolution that brought sovereignty to the island of Cuba. Cuba had been made a cesspool by American gangsters and gangster corporations like the American Sugar Co. The Americans would go to Cuba to sow their wild oats in the clubs, bordelos and casinos. Enterprises catering to their every hedonistic need were thriving. And isn't that true for practically every Caribbean and Latin American country nowadays? Some in the so-called "developed" world vacation there expressly to indulge their base urges.

Why would some Americans believe that self-respecting people of another country would be tolerant of this sort of treatment? If the situation was reversed, how would they feel about a daughter, mother or son being caught up in the skin trade that thrives in particular areas of Mexico, Brazil and the Caribbean? I wonder why the "family values" advocates like Pat Robertson, who called for the Assassination of Hugo Chavez, can't support that same need for "family values" outside the US? Is that indicative of the complicity of the American establishment in the criminality of some elements of the U.S. government?

In Cuba, everyone can have an education, health care, housing and food -- these very basic human rights guard against the need to resort to desperate measures for survival.

In the land of the "free", there are a record 2.2 million people incarcerated (Blacks and Latinos comprise a disproportionately higher percentage of the prison population), the infant mortality rate is higher than in Cuba. Cuba is after all a third world country suffering from 40+ years of an onerous embargo. In America 16% of the population have no health insurance and the income gap has increased to an all time high under Bush. Of course, all these disparities are greater in minority communities.

The Americans supported the despotic strongman dictator, Batista. Batista was the U.S.'s man -- in an oft repeated alliance with dictatorships that is the hallmark of U.S. foreign policy in Latin America and the World. Witness the same relationships with the authoritarian governments of Saddam Hussein, the Shah of Iran, King Fahd, the Duvaliers of Haiti, the Saudi Arabian kingdom, Pinochet...etc.

In Africa the 60's was an era of struggle for liberation as the nations of this continent battled colonialism and exploitation directed by world imperialist powers. Inspired by the example of the Cuban Revolution's fight against US imperialism many rebelled.

The developed nations mostly directed by the US, supported and financed all those corrupt dictators who served their interests.

At seeing their interests in jeopardy the imperialist nations put their repressive mechanisms in action. At this time by orders of the CIA, Socialists, Communists, and progressive people were assassinated; even simple nationalist were eliminated.

At the end of '64, to battle injustice, colonialism and exploitation El Comandante Che Guevarra joins, as an advisor, liberation forces in what is now known as the Congo. -- El Che in Africa

Cubans also supported South African Blacks during apartheid when the state of Israel (the U.S.'s stalwart ally -- for want of a better word) was arming the racist government of Pretoria. Arms that were used to intimidate and kill people like Nelson Mandela of the African National Congress (ANC) who opposed the apartheid government.

...in 1976, Israel invited the South African prime minister, John Vorster - a former Nazi sympathiser and a commander of the fascist Ossewabrandwag that sided with Hitler - to make a state visit...

Vorster's visit laid the ground for a collaboration that transformed the Israel-South Africa axis into a leading weapons developer and a force in the international arms trade. Liel [Alon], who headed the Israeli foreign ministry's South Africa desk in the 80s, says that the Israeli security establishment came to believe that the Jewish state may not have survived without the relationship with the Afrikaners.

"We created the South African arms industry," says Liel. "They assisted us to develop all kinds of technology because they had a lot of money. When we were developing things together we usually gave the know-how and they gave the money. After 1976, there was a love affair between the security establishments of the two countries and their armies.

"We were involved in Angola as consultants to the [South African] army. You had Israeli officers there cooperating with the army. The link was very intimate."

It is a naive person who believes that the U.S. administration was unaware of this activity by Israel. Israel often acts as the U.S.'s gunrunner as they did to kick off the September 30th, 2001 coup in Haiti against the democratic government of Aristide. The San Francisco Chronicle1 detailed the shipment of some 2,000 Israeli-made Uzi submachine guns and Galil assault rifles, which arrived a month before the coup. The guns were used to slaughter the defenseless Haitian poor.

On his way to becoming a legend, Che and Cuban troops volunteered and turned back the invasion of Angola by South Africa and Zaire. Thousands of Cubans willingly died fighting for the freedom of Africa. How many freedom fighters did the U.S., Europe and Asia send? The freedom lovers in the U.S. government kept their troops home, but thankfully the American people (The Black Caucus was the source of the Comprehensive Antiapartheid Act of 1986 that transformed U.S. policy toward South Africa) and people all over the world supported sanctions against the apartheid government of South Africa and were responsible for dismantling apartheid to some degree, though much work remains to be done in that arena.

Che's executioner and other killers like Luis Posada Carriles are not prosecuted for their crimes, because they were committed in the service of the U.S. government.

To the people of Latin America and increasingly of the Caribbean the phrase "VIVA LA REVOLUCION" has concrete meaning. In Castro's Cuba the Creole language of Haiti is a second language. Haitians find refuge there, while in most countries of the Caribbean and of course in the U.S. they are incarcerated at facilities like Krome Detention center and other INS Federal Detention Centers. The author Edwidge Danticat details the death of her frail 81 year old Uncle Joseph at Krome in her new book "Brother, I'm Dying.

The NAACP, the Conference of Catholic Bishops, politicians and most of the major newspapers (including the New York Times, New York Daily News, the Washington Post, among others) have urged the Obama administration to grant Temporary Protected Status (TPS) to Haitian, but to date Obama has refused.

In South America, Hugo Chavez has espoused his fidelity to the pursuit of Che's dream. Che's ambition was to see a free and sovereign Latin America and this dream is progressing nicely, thank you. As we see in Castro's Cuba, Chavez's Venezuela, Evo Morales' Bolivia, Michelle Bachelet's Chile and Ecuador's Rafael Correa.

Che was a Socialist, a Revolutionary and a Freedom Fighter...
his legacy lives on.

CHE VIVA!

“Let me say, at the risk of seeming ridiculous, that the true revolutionary is guided by great feelings of love.”
“Many will call me an adventurer - and that I am, only one of a different sort: one of those who risks his skin to prove his platitudes."

"The amount of poverty and suffering required for the emergence of a Rockefeller, and the amount of depravity that the accumulation of a fortune of such magnitude entails, are left out of the picture, and it is not always possible to make the people in general see this."

"There are no boundaries in this struggle to the death. We cannot be indifferent to what happens anywhere in the world, for a victory by any country over imperialism is our victory; just as any country's defeat is a defeat for all of us."

"Where a government has come into power through some form of popular vote, fraudulent or not, and maintains at least an appearance of constitutional legality, the guerrilla outbreak cannot be promoted, since the possibilities of peaceful struggle have not yet been exhausted.”
