How outrageous! A million dollars donated to Nepal by Martelly, but still no acknowledgement from the Nepalese of the disaster they brought to the Haitian people.
In Haiti, many more have died or have been infected by their imported cholera, than was affected by the Nepalese quakes. Of course, one has great sympathy and empathy for these similarly poor and illiterate Nepalese people in their time of sorrow, but how can there still be Nepalese UN troops in Haiti getting "hazard duty" pay when they caused the deaths of over 10,000 Haitians and infected 800,000 more with cholera? Shouldn't they be back home insuring the "security" of their own country?
The least the Nepalese government owes Haiti is an apology, but momentary compensation, a permanent withdrawal of its occupying UN troops or a statement of solidarity that acknowledges their culpability would just begin to make up for the instability and death they brought to Haiti.
Interestingly, we have not had the speculations and anticipation of violence, rioting and the other negative "stories" out of the whitewashed media when a quake disaster hit Haiti. The media's racist stereotyping of Haitians and the call by right-wing outlets like The Heritage Foundation for a militarized response to the disaster never matched events on the ground, but served to demonize, dehumanize and at present serves the purposes of their conspiracy of silence about the continuing instability, abuses and criminality of the UN/US occupation of Haiti and their installation, protection and upholding of the repressive dictatorship of Martelly/Paul.
Why isn't the poverty pimping Sean Penn testifying (with all the phony gravitas his newly minted expertise on all matters Haitian) to Congress right now, as he did after Haiti's quake, about making Nepal a US protectorate?
Their "humanitarian" actions were incomprehensible to anyone except to the White Supremacy System. In any other sovereign country, for the U.S. military to invade and grab control of their airport and keep aid away from the people they claimed to be helping, there would have been a general outcry and outrage.
The inequities continue: For Nepal the U.S. brings out the NASA high tech equipment that can detect noise far down in the quake debris to save the lives of 4 people. They send in special forces on rescue missions, yet for Haiti those forces were sent to ensure no one strayed out of the disaster zone or disturbed the American "interests."
Not that we didn't have a clue about whose lives the US' Obama regime thinks matters. They had that high tech NASA equipment at their disposal after the Haiti quake, but the U.S. was too busy dispatching a show of force to land at the site of the destroyed presidential palace, to bother breaking out that equipment to save African/Black lives. #HaitianLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatter

Today Haitians Are in Open Rebellion

The situation in Haiti today is another U.S. occupation with the UN as proxy going into its 11th year. The anniversary of the 2004 U.S., Canada and France orchestrated coup of Haiti's first democratically elected government is on February 29, 2015.
The Haitian Parliament's and Michel Martelly's ended on January 12 last week. The U.S-backed Martelly picked Evans Paul as Prime Minister after the hasty departure of Laurent Lamothe in the midst of major demonstrations against the government. Evans Paul headed "The Democratic Convergence", organizations which supported the 2004 coup against Lavalas The two are to rule by decree as a dictatorship. The Martelly regime stalled elections for over three years.
This scenario was encouraged by Martelly's handlers, because how do you get to this impasse? You ignore the rule of law, the Haitian constitution, jail, threaten or murder the opposition and generally act as unstatesmanlike as possible while stealing from the government (and Diaspora's) coffers, like the unqualified skinhead who holds eight passports that you are, you had the U.S. Ambassador to back up your big lie about not being an American citizen. Otherwise, aside from your deficit in character, humanity and probity, you are not qualified for the Haitian presidency.
Throw in a UN military occupation of 9,000 from all corners of the globe, which delivers "a quiet genocide" from the "unintended" import of a deadly cholera strain from Nepal and soon the battlefield is littered with a conservative 10,000+ Haitian dead. Who could have predicted that?
The Obama regime supported the dismissal of a lawsuit brought against the UN by the cholera victims and a NY judge did just that to begin another year of United Nations impunity and unaccountability in Haiti. They own the game, so they can make and break the rules if it suits them. A majority of the time, it suits them. Particularly, if it accomplishes the goals they met to secretly hash out (with no Haitians present) at a little meeting called, the Ottawa Initiative. One issue they aced was doing something to depopulate Haiti (of Haitians - all others welcome). This issue they lamented, was a "ticking time bomb." Nature, fault lines, HAARP, deep ocean mining... it all coalesced to cull 100s of thousands of Haitians at once. Hey, you have to admit, there was an awful lot of them. And so few of US! Well, that's one way that conversation at that Ottawa meeting might have gone. Course, they could have discussed how concerned they were about a country with the lowest crime rate in the Caribbean, so many independent souls, what a unique Afro-Caribbean culture, what a wonderful history, such a proud people....Nahhh!

There have been almost daily protest in the streets for almost a solid month (Named: Opération Burkina Faso after the successful 2014 uprising in BF) up until January 12 when Parliament dissolved, now 5 days later, they've started up again in even greater numbers.

The protester's chief demand is that Martelly leave. The "real opposition," (meaning those who have not reconciled with Martelly and injustice by signing on to be a part of this dictatorship. One is Senator Moise. See his statement quoted below.) has proposed an interim government to organize elections headed by the runner-up in the last presidential, election held in 2010, Mirlande Manigat.
A video was circulated of the UN military shooting live rounds at unarmed civilians during one of these protests. Meanwhile, the body count is mounting, and a bloodbath is predicted if Martelly doesn't leave soon.
Will any of this #BlackLivesMatter blood get on the Obama legacy? Or will it just be a small little blip... not unlike a drone over Iran, Pakistan, Yemen, Afghanistan, Texas, Uganda...
What we are seeing on the ground is a predictably militarized response to peaceful unarmed protesters by the Haitian Police and the UN, so sadly, those predictions are looking to be real. This is also evidenced by some of the bloody and gruesome evidence of the dead and injured that one cannot avoid seeing posted on-line.
Another year of a brutal U.S. occupation, but this time Haiti is not alone in that;
1) the richest "part of Africa is now under the absolute and brutal control of the West: Somalia and Djibouti, Ethiopia, Kenya, Uganda, Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC), as well as South Sudan."
Hillary Clinton's State Department paid-off two "human rights" organizations, Amnesty International and Human Rights Watch to facilitate regime change in Eritrea. Take a look at a map. Eritrea shares two borders on the African continent, one with Somalia, the other with Sudan. So guess that's why they're under a constant siege. The Bush regime was pushing for the same atrocities. The Eritrians are called "the Cuba of Africa" because they've held out for so long, in comparison to their neighbors.
2) Other countries around the globe are or have been subject to regime change by the U.S. and its client states and remain either in chaos, civil war or under siege, including but not limited to: Libya, Ivory Coast, Sudan, Ukraine, Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Pakistan, Yemen, Venezuela, North Korea, Iran, Russia and Palestine/Gaza.
A special congratulations to Cuba for making a deal with the Obama regime to restore diplomatuc relations. The U.S. has ended travel restrictions. The remaining Cuban 5 returned home (yeah!). Hopefully the embargo will officially end. It should be good news. And one shouldn't feel as if we haven't heard the real story. Cuba has been noticeably acquiescent lately and downright traiturous towards Haiti... like the rest of "leftist" Latin America. Lost that revolutionary spirit since Raoul Castro replaced Fidel. Although, it was so impressive the way they sent over 100 doctors to fight the Ebola virus! Viva!
On the CBS Evening News yesterday, they reported some good news. In Liberia, Ebola is all but contained. In Nigeria and Sierra Leone, there's been good progress. Condolences to the villages in Nigeria who have been attacked by Boko Haram. What's the progress one wonders by those "experts" Obama sent to locate those 100 girls? It was reported that the total kidnappings to date are over two hundred. And the massacre of the entire village of Beja, Nigeria, which was happening during the high-profile Charlie Hebdo incident, where 17 people reportedly died, is estimated to be 2,000. How can Boko Haram be so strong now, they are looking to establish an Islamic state. Wow. It's almost as if they're being rewarded for making the Nigerian government look extremely bad. That would be a plan, if one wanted to undermine what reportedly is Africa's strongest economy... it's got all that oil.
Do #BlackLivesMatter if you can see the devastated village where the Boko Haram massacre occurred from space? Where is the fervor with which NATO "humanitarian" bombed Libya? The "humanitarians" and their NGOs probably can't find any good targets with those satellites that track human rights issues from space.
Obama sent troops to contain the population of Ebola victims in Liberia... can't have these diseased people getting on planes. So callous. So predictable. One can't expect a leopard to change its spots - it is a predator.
In case your wondering where the U.S. stands on this whole ruling by decree/dictatorship thing... the U.S. ambassador to Haiti is squarely on the side of dictatorship.

Dear America: #BringBackOurSovereignty
People are growing suspicious of the hysterical press coverage of the missing girls in Nigeria. They wonder: why isn't the U.S. equally concerned about the numerous other pressing issues happening to innocent men, women and children globally?
An American friend of mine echos this concern:
Just today another friend posted a link to an article expressing a similar concern, this time from the vantage point Nigerians and Africans:
No hysterical news coverage at all about the humanitarian disasters in Haiti: over 10,000 Haitians dead from the imported UN cholera by the Nepalese UN soldiers. Not that it wasn't an awful tragedy, but there was more coverage about the 12 Sherpas dead from that Everest avalanche, than the There are over 9,000 troops stationed throughout the entire country. They are not there to secure, develop or help the people of Haiti, but to exploit and rob it of the valuable natural resources.

The UN has been conducting a brutal, deadly, racist proxy US occupation of Haiti for 10 years. The U.S. conspired with France and Canada to removed Haiti's first democratically elected government (BTW: during the aftermath of the U.S. coup Condi "Oil Tanker" Rice warned President Aristide to stay out of the Western Hemisphere!). The "international community" have had their puppets in place in Haiti ever since.
The Martelly/Lamothe regime have not held elections in over two years and their administration is top-heavy with Martelly's buddies: right-wing thugs and Duvalierist. These two American citizens in power in Haiti (another violation of the Haitian constitution) are facing almost daily protests from the population for their repressive and deadly reign of terror. So much so, that their latest weapon is a toxic water cannon truck to deter dissent. This weapon can be deadly if the Pepper Spray dosage instructions are not precisely followed.

The Obama administration has tried to quash the cholera lawsuit filed in New York by the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti (IJDH). As noted before: strangely IJDH Board of Directors member Paul Farmer is the official UN Envoy to Haiti.
Will cholera victims ever get their day in court? Not if the Obama administration continues to obstruct justice and protect the UN.

Okay, I am officially smelling a rat in this Nigerian abduction story. You can never, ever trust hysteria in the media because it is always a sure sign of political manipulation. I don't question that young girls were abducted; I don't question that the Nigerian government has not lifted a finger to find them. But the US Pentagon is not sending advisors, soldiers, special forces to Nigeria on behalf of young girls. It's up to something much more malignant and scary.

The Obama administration has tried to quash the cholera lawsuit filed in New York by the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti (IJDH). As noted before: strangely IJDH Board of Directors member Paul Farmer is the official UN Envoy to Haiti.

Audit: USAID Haiti work 'not on track'

A newly released audit says the largest U.S. contractor working to stabilize Haiti after the 2010 earthquake is "not on track" to complete its assignments on schedule, has a weak monitoring system and is not adequately involving community members.
Washington D.C.-based Chemonics won a $53 million, 18-month contract from USAID in 2011 to help Haiti strengthen its economy and public institutions. USAID's Office of Inspector General released a report Monday that found Chemonics had a series of slips, including using arbitrary ways of evaluating its work, failing to hire local workers, and going ahead with potentially damaging environmental projects before they were approved.
"This report touches on a lot of issues we've seen with the overall reconstruction effort," said Jake Johnston, a researcher at the Washington D.C.-based Center for Economic and Policy Research who studies U.S. spending in Haiti. "There's a lack of transparency and the work is often poorly planned and poorly executed."
Chemonics did not have an immediate comment, but a spokeswoman said it was preparing a response. USAID's Office of Transition Initiatives, which manages the Chemonics contracts, said in a written response to the audit that it agrees with all of the recommendations and that changes are under way to resolve the issues.
"It should be noted that it is challenging to attribute direct results in complex and fluid stabilization environments, and it is often the absence of destabilizing events that demonstrates stability in these historically volatile areas," USAID directors Robert Jenkins and Steve Olive said in a joint response.
This is the second time Chemonics work in Haiti has been found lacking. In 2010, USAID auditors found the firm failed to hire thousands of Haitians as planned under a cash-for-work program, spending the funds on equipment and materials.
Also in 2010, Chemonics was one of five groups criticized for wasting aid in Afghanistan on foreign workers' high salaries, security and living arrangements.
Chemonics, which has worked in 150 countries, counts USAID as its largest client.
In Haiti, Chemonics was awarded a $39.5 million contract after the earthquake for the first phase of reconstruction, involving 301 different small projects including setting up temporary space for parliament and holding Haiti's first- ever presidential debates. Its second $53 million contract, aimed at a second phase of reconstruction, had more than 140 different projects aimed at improving the social and economic situation in Haiti by hosting job fairs, printing training guides to prevent violence against women, establishing a daily radio news program and other projects.
Auditors said the second phase lacks accountability on many levels.
For example, the U.S. is helping construct a major, $224 million industrial park which is projected to employ more than 20,000 people in a small, impoverished northern community. Chemonics set out to beautify nearby towns to project "a positive image of what role the nearby Caracol industrial park and other upcoming economic investments will play in citizens' lives."
It didn't work. The plan was to spruce up the towns by installing benches, upgrading landscaping, and doing some minor masonry work. Auditors found Chemonics purchased and planted some seedlings for the town center, but they died from lack of care, and residents said they didn't see how the activity led to the beautification of the area nor did they associate it with the industrial park.
As a contractor, Chemonics is also responsible for setting up its own system of evaluation. The auditors found some of the ways the firm was measuring accomplishments simply didn't make sense. For example, Chemonics conducted an engineering study to improve one town's roads, and then measured their accomplishment by trying to count how many rebuilt institutions and structures "incorporate principles that support democracy and government legitimacy."
At times the work has also seemed backward. For example, an environmental review required in advance of farming projects was instead signed off on three months after Chemonics had 700,000 flowering tropical jatropha seedlings planted as part of a temporary work program.

Unease over UN bid to eradicate Haiti cholera

The UN has launched a new initiative aimed at tackling cholera in Haiti. But the programme falls short of what many had hoped for.
The new programme dedicates $215m from donors along with $23.5m from UN funds towards programmes in public health, capacity building, public education, and clean water systems. It will be part of a larger ten-year $2.2bn programme between Haiti and the neighbouring Dominican Republic to eradicate cholera from the island of Hispaniola.
"We know the elimination of cholera is possible," said UN Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon at the initiative’s launch on Tuesday. "It has happened in difficult environments around the world. It can and will happen in Haiti."
Cholera was introduced to Haiti in October 2010 and has since killed about 7,750 and infected more than 600,000 people.
"With this new initiative, we will eradicate and remove once and for all the consequences and negatives effects of cholera on the Island of Hispaniola," said Lorenzo Hidalgo, the Minister of Health of the Dominican Republic.
But there are concerns by some diplomats and UN observers that the funds necessary for the programme would not be forthcoming from donors.
"The humanitarian funding is already running out," said Jake Johnston of the Centre for Economic and Policy Research in Washington. "What's to give anyone faith that these funds will come through?"
Haiti will need $500m over the next two years for its own national cholera plan. The funds allocated in the programme would therefore cover only one year.
UN diplomats told me that the launch of the initiative is meant to reinvigorate the humanitarian effort to tackle cholera, and send a strong signal to donors.
"I'm confident that more resources will come," Nigel Fisher, the deputy head of the UN mission in Haiti, told reporters on Tuesday.
"As we move forward with this, we will indeed see the elimination of cholera."
Additionally, some UN observers fear that the plan will deflect international pressure on the UN to take responsibility for introducing the deadly disease.
Numerous studies - including internal investigations by the UN itself - indicate that cholera was brought in by Nepalese peacekeeping troops. Yet the international body has yet to formally take the blame.
"A just response requires allowing past victims of the UN cholera and their survivors their day in court, to seek justice for their loss of loved ones, income, property and educational opportunities," said Brian Concannon, Director of the Institute for Justice and Democracy in Haiti, which has launched a lawsuit against the UN on behalf of the families of 5,000 cholera
victims.
More than 6,700 people have signed an online petition launched last week by filmmaker Oliver Stone, calling for the UN to take responsibility.

The U.N. has requested $2.2 billion to battle a cholera epidemic in Haiti that has killed nearly 8,000 people since 2010.
Working with the Haitian government, the U.N. has outlined a 10-year plan to improve water and sanitation systems and provide treatment to those affected by the life-threatening disease.
“The new initiative will invest in prevention, treatment and education -- it will take a holistic approach to tackling the cholera challenge,” U.N. Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon said Tuesday in a press conference.
“The main focus is on the extension of clean drinking water and sanitation systems -- but we are also determined to save lives now through the use of an oral cholera vaccine.”
Mr. Ban seeks to raise $500 million for the first phase of the plan over the next two years. He said that slightly less than half of that amount had already been raised.
“Today I am pleased to announce that $215 million in existing funds from bilateral and multilateral donors will be used to support the initiative. I thank the donor community for this generous commitment,” Mr. Ban said.
“The United Nations will do its part. We are committing $23.5 million, building on the $118 million the U.N. system has spent on the cholera response to date.”
An additional $1.7 billion will be sought during the next eight years to eliminate the disease.
Haiti was struck by a cholera outbreak that killed roughly 7,000 people several months after a devastating 2010 earthquake killed an estimated 250,000 people.
It has become increasingly evident that the cholera pathogen was introduced to Haiti via U.N. peacekeepers from Nepal, where scientists have identified the original strain.
"We now know that the strain of cholera in Haiti is an exact match for the strain of cholera in Nepal," said Dr. Danielle Lantagne, a cholera expert employed by the U.N., the BBC reported.
In the area surrounding Port-au-Prince, the country's capital and most populous city, underdeveloped water and sanitation systems, many of which were damaged in the earthquake, are believed to have contributed to the spread of the waterborne pathogen.
While the U.N. has acknowledged that scientific evidence supports the idea that its employees may have introduced the cholera bacteria, it has avoided claiming responsibility for the outbreak, saying that it was not the fault of “any group or individual,” according to the Guardian.
A recent spike in cholera-related deaths has put the Haitian government on high alert, particularly in the wake of heavy rains from Hurricane Sandy, which passed through in October.
“This will not be a short-term crisis,” Mr. Ban said. “Eliminating cholera from Haiti will continue to require the full cooperation and support of the international community.”
