Can Haiti Get a Simple Apology Nepalese Officials?

How outrageous! A million dollars donated to Nepal by Martelly, but still no acknowledgement from the Nepalese of the disaster they brought to the Haitian people.

In Haiti, many more have died or have been infected by their imported cholera, than was affected by the Nepalese quakes. Of course, one has great sympathy and empathy for these similarly poor and illiterate Nepalese people in their time of sorrow, but how can there still be Nepalese UN troops in Haiti getting "hazard duty" pay when they caused the deaths of over 10,000 Haitians and infected 800,000 more with cholera? Shouldn't they be back home insuring the "security" of their own country?

The least the Nepalese government owes Haiti is an apology, but momentary compensation, a permanent withdrawal of its occupying UN troops or a statement of solidarity that acknowledges their culpability would just begin to make up for the instability and death they brought to Haiti.

Interestingly, we have not had the speculations and anticipation of violence, rioting and the other negative "stories" out of the whitewashed media when a quake disaster hit Haiti. The media's racist stereotyping of Haitians and the call by right-wing outlets like The Heritage Foundation for a militarized response to the disaster never matched events on the ground, but served to demonize, dehumanize and at present serves the purposes of their conspiracy of silence about the continuing instability, abuses and criminality of the UN/US occupation of Haiti and their installation, protection and upholding of the repressive dictatorship of Martelly/Paul.

Why isn't the poverty pimping Sean Penn testifying (with all the phony gravitas his newly minted expertise on all matters Haitian) to Congress right now, as he did after Haiti's quake, about making Nepal a US protectorate?

Their "humanitarian" actions were incomprehensible to anyone except to the White Supremacy System. In any other sovereign country, for the U.S. military to invade and grab control of their airport and keep aid away from the people they claimed to be helping, there would have been a general outcry and outrage.

The inequities continue: For Nepal the U.S. brings out the NASA high tech equipment that can detect noise far down in the quake debris to save the lives of 4 people. They send in special forces on rescue missions, yet for Haiti those forces were sent to ensure no one strayed out of the disaster zone or disturbed the American "interests."

Not that we didn't have a clue about whose lives the US' Obama regime thinks matters. They had that high tech NASA equipment at their disposal after the Haiti quake, but the U.S. was too busy dispatching a show of force to land at the site of the destroyed presidential palace, to bother breaking out that equipment to save African/Black lives. #HaitianLivesMatter #BlackLivesMatter

Haiti Activists Urge Rejection of Both Congressional Candidates in Harlem

Incumbent Harlem Congressman Charles Rangel and his main challenger, State Sen. Adriano Espaillat, are both guilty of supporting “apartheid” policies against Dominicans of Haitian descent, charged demonstrators outside a televised campaign debate. Under a law passed by the Dominican Republic and endorsed by Rangel and Espaillat, less than 10 percent of 200,000-plus people with roots in Haiti will quality for Dominican citizenship, even though most have never set foot outside the country and speak only Spanish. Daoud Andre, a Haitian community activist, called on Harlemites “not to vote for either of these supporters of apartheid,” and for “people of conscience around the world to boycott Dominican products and services,” including tourism.

An Emergency Call to Action: Protest Racial Hypocrisy of Espaillat, Rangel and Silence of Walrond in 13th Congressional Race

Activists from around New York City will hold a protest in front of the main entrance of Lehman College (250 Bedford Park Blvd W, New York, NY 10468) on Wednesday June 11th from 5pm to 9pm during a televised debate of candidates running for the 13th Congressional seat: incumbent Charles Rangel, State Senator Adriano Espaillat, and Rev. Michael Walrond. The protest is to let the world know that the real issue of racism in this Congressional Race is not Rangel's comments on Espaillat's Dominican ethnicity but the support of both leading candidates for the Apartheid policy of the Dominican Republic's Government against Haitian immigrants and Dominicans of Haitian descent. The protest will condemn the silence of Rev. Walrond for not speaking out against this human rights travesty.

For generations, Haitians and Dominicans of Haitian descent living in the DR have been living in a situation of apartheid, treated with disdain and discriminated against because of the color of their skin. Massacres, mass deportations, rape, and all sorts of violence have been their lot. On September 23rd, 2013 the Dominican Constitution Tribunal, the country's highest court, decided to strip all Dominicans of Haitian descent born in the DR between 1929 to 2007 of their Dominican citizenship. In response to the outcry from within the country and all over the world, on May 15th, 2014 Dominican President Danilo Medina proposed what he called a humanitarian bill to resolve the situation. Both houses of the Dominican Congress unanimously passed this bill without debate. The problem with this "humanitarian" law is that out of the 210,000 Dominicans of Haitian descent, the DR Government itself claims were affected by the Sept. 23rd ruling only 13,000 at most will get their Dominican citizenship restored. Not even 10% of those supposedly affected will get relief. This is an outrage and must be opposed.

Support a Tea Party, Vote Republican

The Republican party is sending out robo calls urging people to vote Republican this November. The Republicans are in a bit of a tussle with the Tea Party for "conservative" hearts and minds. The Republican Party is a very divided party right now.

Tea Party endorsed candidate Sharron Angle of Nevada, who won the Republican primary, will face Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid in November. This is the race that the Democratic leader claims he wanted. Democrats are reportedly ecstatic that the right-wing of the Republican party has won so many primaries. Analyst think the Tea Party wins could mean GOP losses in November. The Tea Party hasn't shown yet that it can broaden its appeal to a larger constituency.

In an effort to do just that, the Angle campaign has made robo calls to states as far away as Seattle, Washington. How many billionaires live in Seattle? The so-called "real conservatives" of the Tea Party "movement" are reportedly bankrolled by billionaires.

If these calls don't have the desired effect, next a letter from Sharon Angle's campaign will arrive to ask the Republican household to find their checkbook right now.

"Not only is this the #1 race in America this year, it is nothing less than a referendum on the far left policies of Barack Obama and Harry Reid. Defeating Reid would be a knockdown blow to Obama. It is a blow I can --- and will -- deliver!. Defeating Reid will spell doom for Obama's agenda!"

Sharron Angle has some extreme views. She thinks that citizens should "use arms against Congress"... does that sound illegal to anyone? The Tea Party is noted for this kind of inflammatory language. Would a black candidate running for the Senate get away with inciting violence against the U.S. government? Would that same black still be in a Senate race. No way!

Angle's interpretation of the Second Amendments (the right of the people to carry and bear arms) is characteristic of the rhetoric of anti-government groups, whose ranks have "caught fire" since the election of Barack Obama according to the Southern Poverty Law Center (SPLC). Angle herself is associated with two such groups: the Independent American Party and Oath Keepers.

The Tea Party is berserk. Some real screwballs... Christine O'Donnell is the new darling of the Tea Party. She just won a primary in Delaware against Republican moderate Mike Castle. O'Donnell has some major issues. Watch out Sarah Palin, she'll steal the limelight!

Remember that old Betty Davis movie "All About Eve?" O'Donnell is the ingenue, Eve. Eve is out to replace the movie star, Margo (Sarah Palin). Eve is Margo's understudy, so she knows how to play the role to perfection. Christine O'Donnell has every Sarah Palin move figured out, right down to paying her personal expenses with campaign money.

An advocacy group, Citizens for Responsibility and Ethics in Washington (CREW) has called on the Delaware U.S. Attorney's Office and the Federal Election Commission (FEC) to investigate O'Donnell for conversion, tax evasion and false statements.

This is slightly off topic, but speaking of creeps and bigots... Luther Campbell, a controversial figure in the music industry, when his group 2 Live Crew performed offensive and sexually explicit material (by mid-90s Campbell declared bankruptcy), has taken "crayon to paper " to protest the building of a community center and mosque in New York near the site of the 9/11 attacks. Luther is popping a blood vessel over the plan:

"What they really want to do is celebrate the martyrdom of terrorists who blew up the World Trade Center. Screw that. Anybody who is involved with putting that mosque next to Ground Zero should be investigated…"

It's a point-of-view that resonates with some mosque opponents. In retrospect, they've gained an appreciation for the rap group's song, "pop that couchie" and are "down with Luke."

Back to Christine O'Donnell... her hair style, glasses, her facial expressions are a dead ringer for Palin. Republican strategist and Fox News contributor Carl Rove wavers between harsh criticism and support of O'Donnell. His attacks have forced her to address the "unfactual" nature of the charges. O'Donnell will also be spending considerable time "refudiating" her past... "that's right, it's a regular epidumbic."

For the Tea Party, stimulating the economy is a sin and for Christine O'Donnell that means saying no to self-gratification. Comedian Jimmy Kimmel feels that his "basic human rights" are being threatened.

One positive is that O'Donnell has given up witchcraft. Witchcraft was just a phase she dabbled in while in high school. Again, strange synergy with Sarah Palin and her Kenyan witch doctor. Palin credits Pastor Muthee with helping her win the Alaska governorship.

Newt Gingrich should look into this. How is Sarah Palin's Kenyan association affecting her commitment to colonial domination?

The election of Barack Obama is bringing all the worse racist elements out of the closet. Newt Gingrich feels quite comfortable in this free-for-all pseudo "patriotic" racist atmosphere advancing intellectually bankrupt theories about how Obama's "Kenyan, anti-colonial worldview" makes him unfit to be president. Mr. Gingrich conveniently forgets that the American founding fathers waged an anti-colonial war called the American Revolution.

If there's blood in your urine, it's election season in America again folks. And this time it's a real circus, with clowns and all!

Will the strategy adopted by the Republican party of pandering to and appealing to the lowest reptilian brain impulses of the American people pay off for them in November?

Newt Gingrich is betting on it. In his opinion, Barack Obama is a Nazi-Commie and "a threat to our way of life."

Michael Steele, what do you think about this GOP party leader's blatant race-baiting and isn't he pandering to the birthers?

Antoinette Davis: Neglectful "Crack Ho" or Innocent Mother?

250 volunteer searchers scouring "an area about 6 miles from the last confirmed sighting of Shaniya." found her body on Sunday (11.16.09). She was dumped along "Walker Road, off N.C. Highway 87, near the Lee-Harnett county line... about 100 feet off Walker Road." The little five year old was found among "deer carcasses" in a woodsy and wet area. The last sighting of Shaniya was at a hotel in Sanford, North Carolina. A man named Mario McNeill was seen carrying Shaniya into a hotel elevator at a Comfort Suites hotel, about 30 miles from her mother's home (Sleepy Hollow Drive, Fayetteville, NC). One unidentified man "who found the body said the girl was lying on the ground and was wearing only a T-shirt." It may be an important clue that a blanket belonging to the girl was found in a neighbor's trash can a day after her disappearance.

Police arrested Mario Andrette McNeill, 29 and charged him with first degree kidnapping. Late Saturday (11.15.09), Shaniya's mother Antoinette Nicole Davis, 25 was also arrested, three days after she reported her child missing. Davis claimed to have discovered the girl missing an hour after putting her to sleep on a couch.
Its hard to believe that Shaniya's mother Antoinette Davis would knowingly "permit an act of prostitution with Shaniya" as the arrest warrant states. Shaniya's mother was arrested late Saturday (11.15.09) and "charged with human trafficking, felony child abuse–prostitution, filing a false police report and obstructing a police investigation."

Questions yet to be answered
Why did Antoinette Davis initially accuse her boyfriend Clarence Coe of abducting Shaniya? Davis is pregnant with Coe's child. Coe was first arrested, but charges against him have since been dropped. He was released when a hotel employee at the Comfort Suites hotel tipped off police about McNeill. At that point the hotel surveillance video of Mcneill with Shaniya was turned over to police. According to Theresa Chance of the Fayetteville Police Department, “...footage was taken Tuesday, and we weren’t made aware of it until Wednesday.”

Antoinette Davis reported Shaniya missing on Nov. 10. On her 911 call released by police, she claimed that she put Shaniya to bed at 5:00 am. Although, Davis is accused of lying on the call--there was time for the abduction to take place without her knowledge. The child was seen on surveillance cameras at the hotel at 6:11 am, an hour and eleven minutes later. The distance between Antoinette Davis' house and the hotel is 30 miles. A distance by car of 50 minutes according to Google Maps. If Davis got the time right, then it would seem that 1 hour was enough time for McNeill to arrive at the hotel with Shaniya after he admittedly abducted her. McNeill, who has a criminal record for shooting a man in the face and other drug related crimes, has nevertheless plead not guilty.

Did someone (McNeil or Coe) point the finger at Antoinette Davis, leading to police arresting her? Or have police deduced from her 911 call and the time constraints involved that she is lying? Do police have other evidence against Antoinette Davis that they are not disclosing?

Did police and prosecutors jump the gun in arresting and charging Antoinette Davis with prostituting her own child? She was arraigned and charged even before the body of her child was found. People should keep in mind that video of Antoinette Davis in court were shot before the body of her missing child was found (she is currently in a segregated cell and on suicide watch)--so if she appears calm and emotionless--it may be because she had yet to learn of her child's death. Some of Davis' family have come to her defense. Her mother Ann Summers said that Antoinette is a "good mother." And her sister Brenda was interviewed after the arraignment.

"Her sister, Brenda Davis, 20, said outside of the courthouse that she does not believe the charges. “I don’t believe she could hurt her children,” said Brenda Davis, who was able to speak to her sister at the jail Sunday."

An uncle, was another family member who made a statement in support of Davis. "I know she’s a great mom. She’s a great mom. Antoinette really loved her children,” said Davis' uncle, Arthur Cromartie.

What is the father Bradley Lockhart's responsibility in this tragedy? Why did he hand his "angel" over to her mother (Shaniya is a product of a "one-night stand" with Davis, according to Lockhart) when there was some question about her fitness as a parent? A family friend Tim Allen said "after Shaniya went to her mother’s house, he noticed marks on her arms. "Boyfriends and his friends would put the cigarettes out on the baby's arms." The local news online, WRAL.com reports:

"Tim Allen has been caring for Lockhart's 17-year-old daughter, Cheyenne. He said Tuesday evening that he told Lockhart not to send Shaniya to live with her mother."I feel he is 99 percent the reason why this happened in the first place,” Allen said of Shaniya’s death."

Antoinette Davis had lived at a house (on Wall Street) which was raided in July by police for drugs, though no one was arrested. Davis also has a 7 year old son (no word on who fathered this son with Davis) and was investigate by child protective services, though no action was taken to remove her child and records are sealed. Lockhart has said that he decided to give Davis a chance to be a mother, and Shaniya was given to her mother on October 9, but by mid October, Shaniya was no longer attending school. Where was Shaniya when her mother was working at her two jobs? It should be mentioned, however, that in North Carolina mandatory school attendance age is 7-16 years old--so Antoinette Davis was not violating state law when she allegedly took Shaniya out of school. As for Davis' work record:

"Davis worked in the kitchen at Carolina Inn at Village Green, an assisted living facility in Fayetteville.CES, a South Carolina-based staffing company that has a contract with Carolina Inn, hired her in June 2008 after an extensive background check, an official said. She had a good employment record at both Carolina Inn and the Haymount Nursing Rehabilitation Facility, but she is no longer employed by the company, the official said."

Who is Bradley Lockhart?
Why has the father who never given his "angel" his last name? While Antoinette is demonized by the majority of people opining about the matter (obviously, because of the arrest), Lockhart remains somewhat of a mystery. Still, some are hoping that this young woman did not cause this to happen to her innocent child. In America, is a person still presumed innocent, until proven guilty? Reading some of the comment on the internet it is hard to believe that people know of this celebrated tenet of the US criminal justice system.

Shaniya's father Bradley Lockhart seems to be a nice man on the surface. He's taken some blame on himself for Shaniya's death, saying--"Every parent would blame themselves. We all look within ourselves to see what we could have done differently." Antoinette Davis is 25 now, so she had Shaniya when she was 20. Wonder how old Bradley Lockhart is? As an aside... It's a frustration sometimes when the news outlets don't report a man's age, but are never slow with reporting the woman's age. Lockhart has five other kids with three different women. He has experienced a tragedy of equal proportion before. His former wife Vicki Lockhart was killed in a home invasion along with two others, including her 19 year old sister. Two men were arrested and prosecuted in the case. The evidence of this latest tragedy, appears to show that Lockhart was somewhat of an absentee father whose sister Carey Lockhart-Davis was actually taking care of Shaniya. His 17 year old daughter Cheyenne was also in the care of another--his friend Tim Allen. According to reports, Lockhart was gone a lot on "out-of-town jobs." No word on what his profession is.

Nancy Grace sets her sights on Antoinette Davis
That reptile Nancy Grace (maybe a guest spot on "V" would show her true colors?) aggressively attacked Antoinette Davis on her CNN show. Here's a video from the show: "Cops: Mom Owed Suspect Money." Grace claims that sources say (one of her guests pointed to cops) Davis owed McNeill for drugs. "Thanks, Mommy," Nancy exclaims at one point, for emphasis. Hasn't Nancy Grace learned anything from firestorm she caused when mother committed suicide after being on her show--"Melinda Duckett, a 21-year-old Florida woman whom Grace grilled after the disappearance of the woman's 2-year-old son." Can't abide Nancy Grace. If ever there was someone who personified gracelessness, its her offensive persona on her sideshow. This is the type of "news" show and ugliness that sells shampoos for Cable TV now.

This case is such a tragedy. Many people are saddened and are grieving the death of this innocent child. It is a sick reality that these sorts of incidents seem to be happening more and more often. What sick, twisted monster wants to have sex with children? The mind boggles and the heart is sickened by the thought of such a perversion. Is it a sign of the times? Is it the economic crunch, poverty and desperation that is leading people to do such despicable things for money? Or was it a festering illness that has always existed, yet never found the fertile ground to grow?

So is Antoinette Davis a neglectful, immoral and criminal "Crack Ho" or innocent hard-working mother?

Obama is the Rage

Ralph Nader in effect called Barack Obama an "Uncle Tom". Nader said that it was Obama's choice so far to be an Uncle Tom to the giant corporations. Ralph was a bad boy. He should apologize immediately.

But if he doesn't, so what? It's Ralph's thing to "rage against the machine." He's an activist gadfly for consumer protection. No one should expect Nader to give that up; though he should be more circumspect and respectful to President-Elect Obama. Obama has not even stepped into the oval office or sworn on the bible to uphold the constitution, unlike Bush, who should be the target of Nader's vitriol because of the full mess he's made of this country. Nader has lost control of his facial muscles and twitches and squints throughout the whole interview. I hope he gets it together. I want to still have some respect for him.

But the fact is, Barack Obama has suddenly become as establishment as you can get, and it stands to reason that many people will align against him. Who knows, if he continues to do the things that Nader outlined (he is a politician!), I might get in that long line.

I don't think Obama is going to be too offended--he will just brush off racial attacks by people like Nader, Berlusconi and that racist Austrian pundit or any others that have the balls to speak their bigoted, prejudicial or racist ideology--it's not acceptable to do so and it's progress that they will get plenty of criticism (even from unexpected quarters!)... IT'S THE PEOPLE THAT YOU DON'T HEAR FROM, THAT LET THEIR HATE SPEAK OUT THROUGH THE BARREL OF A GUN OR OTHER WEAPON WHO ARE DEADLY.

I don't know if this rumor is rooted in truth (see the links below; it's true), but I heard a caller to WBAI's Hugh Hamilton show voice the concern that many White people went out and brought guns after Obama won the Democratic nomination and even more armed themselves when Obama won the presidency. It is ironic that many of the guns purchased will most likely not protect or secure these folks, but may end up facilitating domestic violence, crime or a tragic accident.

Of course FOX "twilight zone" NEWS would jump on Ralph Nader for this – you know "Divisiveness R' US" is their unofficial motto. Surely, these propagandist, racist, ignorant buffoons have said much, much worst against Barack Obama in particular and Black people in general. I'm certainly not buying the bridge they are trying to sell with their feigned outrage over Ralph's misguided remarks.

On a positive note, the Obama administration is set to recognize science... first thing will be to reverse the Bush policy on prohibiting stem cell research. Yeah!

I can't find it, but I also wanted to put up a chart from the new change.gov website that was displayed on Keith Obermann that has all the branches of the government listed UNDER the constitution. Hey, that's CHANGE I CAN BELIEVE IN!

But yesterday, on November 4, 2008, I was most happy to actually meet the America that chose to make the picture on the right its new dawn.... Honestly, as someone raised in post-Civil Rights America, I don't know this America. I didn't think it was possible. I am most happy to meet this America and I am most thankful for President-elect Barack Obama's unyielding audacity of hope. Most happy to have taken part in it because he envisioned what could be. I hope that that America won't again turn away from this hope for the poor and disenfranchised all over this planet, and go back to promoting the special interests of the corporate elites, valuing profit over people. Senator Barack Obama's victory has introduced me to the possibility of that America. That's a stunning feat. I hope all of us rise up to meet this America we all took a glimpse of on November 4th. Change would truly have come if we actually ACT to extend the November 4th values and broad, inter-generational coalition, across the races, transcending political party, class and creeds that was forged to elect Barack Obama. And extend it each and everyday of our lives. I didn't believe it existed or could be pulled forth in my lifetime. That I've lived to see it, to know it's there and not just the ephemeral dream; that I have lived to see a Black man, this man of integrity and enormous vision and competence, this son of an African, with an aunt who is still an "illegal alien" about to call home, a White House built by the forced labor of African captives, that this America exists and was pulled forth for the world to see, makes me more thankful than I can say. I pour libation for all the Ancestors who did not live to see that the color line has been crossed. I weep for all the American lives and Iraqi lives in Iraq and elsewhere around the world that paid the ultimate price for this day to come so simply. I pray the children in the Congo will benefit from this new day. I hope this means Haitian lives will also be more valued and a new US-Haiti partnership is on the horizon. I pray that a new dawn of American leadership is at hand and hope that President Barack Obama will work with us as we've outlined in "What Haitian Americans are Asking of the New US President." Why Haiti Is So Poor: Racism.

"The people of Haiti are as poor as human beings can be," John Maxwell begins, in his article "Haiti: Racism and poverty." Mr. Maxwell then outlines the immense wealth of Robert Zoellick, a former partner at Goldman Sachs, a man who's "entertainment allowance could probably feed the entire population for a day or two." So, Mr. Maxwell concludes, "It is not hard to understand that Mr Zoellick cannot understand why Haiti needs debt relief."

Haiti is now forced by the World Bank and the IMF, to pay more than $1 million a week for debts incurred by the US supported dictatorships of Papa and Baby Doc Duvalier, the succeeding military government (1991-1994) of coup plotters sponsored by the US and the US installed puppet government of Gerard Latortue—that was brought about by the US coup-knapping of President Aristide in 2004.

In order to qualify for further financial assistance or really more debt burden, Haiti must prove itself "credit worthy" by paying this onerous and unjust debt.

The following is an excerpt of the press release: Call for World Bank chief to explain claim that $500m Haitian debt already cancelled – weeks after relief delayed by six months Haitian and international civil society groups have today written to World Bank President Robert Zoellick asking him to clarify ‘misleading’ remarks about debt cancellation made on a visit to storm-ravaged Haiti last week. [1] Zoellick is reported to have told journalists in Port-au-Prince that Haiti’s $1.7 billion debt was “half-forgiven” and promised “the rest of the debt” could soon be cancelled. [2] He was also reported to have stated that $500 million of Haitian debt had already been cancelled. [3] In fact, none of Haiti’s debt stock has yet been cancelled by the World Bank, and in recent weeks the World Bank has delayed debt cancellation for Haiti by six months. This comes as the UN’s Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs John Holmes described the four hurricanes that have struck the country as the “worst disaster in the last 100 years” to strike Haiti. [4] Mr. Maxwell continues to outline Haiti's past and recent history in his indictment of the racist, corporatist, imperialistic and White supremist system that keeps Haiti underdeveloped and desperately poor: The reason Haiti is in its present state is pretty simple: Canada, the United States and France, all of whom consider themselves civilized nations, colluded in the overthrow of the democratic government of Haiti four years ago. They did this for several excellent reasons: Haiti 200 years ago defeated the world’s then major powers, France (twice), Britain and Spain, to establish its independence and to abolish plantation slavery. This was unforgivable. Despite being bombed, strafed and occupied by the United States early in the past century, and despite the American endowment of a tyrannical and brutal Haitian army designed to keep the natives in their place, the Haitians insisted on re-establishing their independence. Having overthrown the Duvaliers and their successors, the Haitians proceeded to elect as president a little Black parish priest who had become their hero by defying the forces of evil and tyranny. The new president of Haiti, Jean Bertrand Aristide, refused to sell out (privatize) the few assets owned by the government (the public utilities mainly). Aristide also insisted that France owed Haiti more than $25 billion in repayment of blood money extorted from Haiti in the 19th century as alleged compensation for France’s loss of its richest colony and to allow Haiti to gain admission to world trade. Aristide threatened the hegemony of a largely expatriate ruling class of so-called “elites” whose American connections allowed them to continue the parasitic exploitation and economic strip mining of Haiti following the American occupation. Haiti, like Cuba, is believed to have in its exclusive economic zone huge submarine oil reserves, greater than the present reserves of the United States. Haiti would make a superb base from which to attack Cuba. The American attitude to Haiti was historically based on American disapproval of a free Black state just off the coast of their slave-based plantation economy. This attitude was pithily expressed in Thomas Jefferson’s idea that a Black man was equivalent to three fifths of a white man. It was further apotheosized by Woodrow Wilson’s Secretary of State William Jennings Bryan, who expostulated to Wilson: “Imagine! Niggers speaking French!” The Haitians clearly did not know their place. In February 2004, Mr. John McCain’s International Republican Institute, assisted by Secretary of State Colin Powell, USAID and the CIA , kidnapped Aristide and his wife and transported them to the Central African Republic as “cargo” in a plane normally used to “render” terrorists for torture outsourced by the U.S. to Egypt, Morocco and Uzbekistan. Before Mr. Zoellick went to Haiti last week, the World Bank announced that Mr. Zoellick’s visit would “emphasize the Bank’s strong support for the country.” Mr. Zoellick added: “Haiti must be given a chance. The international community needs to step up to the challenge and support the efforts of the Haitian government and its people.” “If Robert Zoellick wants to give Haiti a chance, he should start by unconditionally cancelling Haiti’s debt,” says Brian Concannon of the Institute for Justice & Democracy in Haiti. “Instead the World Bank - which was established to fight poverty - continues to insist on debt payments when Haitians are starving to death and literally mired in mud.” “After four hurricanes in a month and an escalating food crisis, it is outrageous that Haiti is being told it must wait six more months for debt relief,” said Jubilee USA Network National Coordinator Neil Watkins. “Haiti’s debt is both onerous and odious,” added Dr. Paul Farmer of Partners In Health. “The payments are literally killing people, as every dollar sent to Washington is a dollar Haiti could spend on healthcare, nutrition and feeding programs, desperately needed infrastructure and clean water. Half of the loans were given to the Duvaliers and other dictatorships and spent on presidential luxuries, not development programs for the poor. Mr. Zoellick should step up and support the Haitian government by canceling the debt now.” “Unconditional debt cancellation is the first step in addressing the humanitarian crisis in Haiti,” according to TransAfrica Forum Executive Director Nicole Lee. “There is also an urgent need for U.S. policy towards Haiti to shift from entrenching the country in future debt to supporting sustainable, domestic solutions for development.” The above quotations are taken from an appeal by the organizations represented above. A Racist Liberal – Shocking!

A new AP/Yahoo poll finds that "white" Americans of all political stripes are racist.

"Deep-seated racial misgivings could cost Barack Obama the White House if the election is close, according to an AP-Yahoo News poll that found one-third of white Democrats harbor negative views toward blacks — many calling them "lazy," "violent," responsible for their own troubles.

...40 percent of all white Americans hold at least a partly negative view toward blacks, and that includes many Democrats and independents."

First, it's a given that John Stossel, a conservative, thinks that blacks should stop complaining about racism in this "colorblind meritocracy" of "black privilege":

"Complaints about racism still dominate media discussion of the disparity between black and white success... There is black privilege -- and white privilege. It's time to stop complaining about past discrimination and to treat people as individuals, not as members of a certain race."

But is it a shock to anyone that Geraldine Ferraro, a liberal, implied that Barack Obama is an affirmative action/quota candidate?

"If Obama was a white man, he would not be in this position... And if he was a woman (of any color) he would not be in this position. He happens to be very lucky to be who he is. And the country is caught up in the concept"

Or that Andrew Cuomo, another Hillary supporter, referred to Barack Obama's campaigning style in this way:

"You can't shuck and jive at a press conference. All those moves you can make with the press don't work when you're in someone's living room."

Race is the "elephant" in the election and a subject that Barack Obama has been avoiding whenever possible, but which he has addressed masterfully when necessary. Race is also why John McCain is running so close in the polls to Barack Obama, in spite of his blunders, ineptitude, temperament and incoherence. It's true that Obama has eked a small lead, but not what you would expect.

You can't choose my leaders

Malcolm X, Dr. King, Marcus Garvey, all names that are revered in the Black community, yet these men were reviled by the White establishment. Many who feared what these men represented celebrated when these leaders died. They partied like it was 1999, but in the case of Malcolm X and Dr. King, it was the 60s and all was peace, love and dropping out (a direct reaction to the Vietnam War). However, where was the love for Jimmy Hendrix? He did most of his grooving, doping and making his guitar wail in England. When he returned to his country, he came back "signed, sealed, delivered" as the official "mascot" of the English glitterati.

Roland Sheppard, in "The Assassinations of Martin Luther King, Jr. and Malcolm X" wrote:

"I remember the mass media, reflecting their class hatred of Malcolm X, gloating and cheering his assassination. I remember the response to his death by the tens of thousands in Harlem, who for several days went to view his casket. I remember the eulogy by Ossie Davis that silenced the hyenas of the press when he said "He [Malcolm X] was our prince, our Black shining prince." In spite of all of the attacks by the mass media, Malcolm X has grown more and more popular as a martyred leader of his people and an uncompromising advocate of human rights and freedom."

In his movie, Farenheit 9/11, Michael Moore described the festivities at his church when Dr. King died. He described how appalled he felt that people he knew all his life could be so callous and racist.

Imagine this same celebratory atmosphere with the death of say... Ronald Reagan. After all, Reagan was not a hero to labor unions; he laid off striking air traffic controllers; he was not a hero to South Americans; he declared the contras were HIS heroes. These same contras would rape mothers while their children watched; these same Contras would mutilate, murder and brutally attack poor Nicaraguans for their political beliefs or just for extortion. Ronnie called these men heroes "the moral equivalent of the Founding Fathers." Reagan and his administration perpetuated the myth of the "welfare mother", this being understood to be the lazy, slothful, unmarried whore who was abusing the welfare system and taking money out of the pockets of rich White guys like him. Never mind that most people on welfare are White. This stereotype served to demonize and marginalize those who Reagan believed, and most White Americans believed, were the enemy.

Cut to Katrina and the slow or non-existent response to the majority Black population of New Orleans. Why in the world would you hurry to the aid of someone who is not a full-fledged American citizen, who is just a member of a group of people who abuse and use the "system" and do not contribute to your wealth in any significant way that you can imagine in your bigoted, racist bubble?

Of course, there is a long list of talented people of African ancestry who were reviled and detested by the White establishment. Namely, Paul Robeson, Muhammad Ali, Nina Simone, Eartha Kitt, etc. Most notably, the recently deceased James Brown was black-listed and could not find work because of his amazing commitment to self-reliance and rejection of any controls on his music and ideals.

What strikes me as interesting is that the people I have named above were the pull-themselves-up-by-their-bootstraps type. Yet, they were found to be undesirable, subversive, communist, rebellious or just the plain old oft-used defamatory "n-bomb".

You have to ask yourself, if people of such exceptional talent, brains and physical attributes are rejected, how do ordinary Black men and women stand a chance of "melting into the pot"? Lets face it, the White establishment does not really want that. They don't want Shaniqua next door. They want to keep her where they feel she belongs... in a housing project in the ghetto.

So don't tell me I should reject Al Sharpton or Jesse Jackson because they are currently the latest Black leaders to be targeted for elimination. I just pray that no one decides, as many a crazy cracker has already decided, to take the decision out of my hands.
